I am excited for this. They did not release F1 2014 on current gen so I have been missing having an F1 game, the closest thing I have to that is Forza 5 with the E22. I thought most of the previous games could have been way better but still I have high hopes for this one. It does not officially have a name yet but it is getting completely redesigned from the ground up.

Release date: TBA

A little info from last summer here

F1 2014 was the first Codemasters F1 game I didn't bother buying. Just seemed a bit of a cut and paste job compared to 2013, except with a different engine sound and a couple of new tracks. To be honest, I've been a bit disappointed with the Codies F1 games as a whole.

When you think about the Toca games they made, as well as the original Grid, I'd hoped they'd do better. The damage in particular has been disappointing, so hopefully next gen will allow them to make some much needed changes. But the racing game I'm really looking forward to this year is Project CARS...

I found the career the most disappointing of all, they barely improved upon that at all over the years. Too many crashers in multiplayer too but that is a given in any racing game.

I am really looking forward to Project CARS as well, should be great!

Yeah, and I don't know what it is, but their games (particularly after 2010 and when they did away with the 'live the life' thing) don't seem to have a great deal of...well...excitement in the career mode. When you win the championship, all you really get is a congratulatory radio message from your engineer, and in between races there's not really much that makes you feel like you're in a championship battle. No real rivalries or whatever. As cheesy as the stories lines where in Toca 1 and 2, at least there was something in the way of plot. There was something going on in-between races.

Similar scenario with the original Grid as well. You had something to work for, whether it be unlocking new sponsors, building your team, hiring a new team mate, or whatever.

Basically, I want the F1 grids to try and be as intense as it no doubt is in real life.

From another forum, perhaps it is for the F1 game?

Hi all,

Lee from Codmasters here.

We're currently toying with the idea of adding proper full on league support to one of our upcoming titles but we need your help with it.
We want to make sure we get the design of it right and while we have our own ideas about how it should work I think it's really important that we speak to the people that would hopefully use it the most (we don't want to do it half arsed).

I don't want to colour your thoughts with what we're thinking of doing so I won't post that just yet (though I promise to post up one of our ideas for the feature later)

We have at our disposal the game and the website and I want to know how would you would want league support to work? What kind of things do you want control over? What kind of info do you want displayed in game? How do you want to manage your league? and more importantly would you want to use it or do you prefer the way you currently run your leagues?

That kinda stuff, open to all ideas

I bought F1 2013 solely for the classic content, I may have turned a couple laps on a modern macca just out of curiosity.

I skipped 2014 completly and I am not expecting anything new from 2015. 4 titles later this series is still lacking behind games that are decades old. I backed Project Cars and it seems to have great potential (Old Spa never gets old), problem is that it requires a really beefy machine and smells of DLC galore after launch.

In 2013 they offered 2012 as a pre-order bonus, I wonder what sort of bait they will throw this time.
