There are so many to choose from. I'll start with this:
640 (early season low engine cowl)
Posted 17 February 2015 - 23:14
Arrows A2
Posted 17 February 2015 - 23:14
That first pic... the angle and all that... and the livery (much better than the Camel/Canon livery from its two predecessors). The most beautiful non-(WDC)-championship winning car of recent times, in my opinion.

The 1991 Ferrari is beautiful, too (although for my taste, a tad too much black at the side front of the car).

I don't know. When I look at the silhouettes of those cars of that time (the F10 as well), they always remind me of an estate car/estate wagon.

Completely agree RK. The black on the side of the front monocoque and nose is the only thing that stops the car making my all-time list. The McLaren MP4/6 could get away with it and I say 'get away' because I believe it too would have looked better with a continuation of the traditional Marlboro red and white in that area.

It's gotta be the 191. Just look at that diffuser!

I always thought it was better looking then the /6.

That's not a diffuser, that's an uberffuser as in fusing the car to the ground!
Posted 17 February 2015 - 23:42
The FW16 won the constructors' championship though.

Lol. Indeed.........
At least GA is not "un-agreeable/WTF?!" in all departments!*
Hi Gary
*Very, very nice work by the way. A genuine work of art that was fast as hell to boot

Another vote for the Jordan 191, but I'm going to put this one in as well.

That MP4-20 is an excellent choice.

The livery was a mess, but the car itself... proportions are great, nice curves all over the car, and that sidepod design that took the Ferrari 641 concept to it's most beautiful iteration. Gary Anderson had a real flair in his designs.

I completely agree. With the right livery I could have been one of the all time greats. The shape is fantastic. Those sidepods...Oh, my!
Edit: This happened...

I'll go with two extremes. From simple beauty:
Honda RA300
To over the top aero bits and pieces:
Ferrari F2008
(I'm only assuming WDC and not WCC, possibly not the most correct though)

I would agree with you barring two things:
1) The strange, abrupt double transition of taper around nose and front monocoque, spoils the cars lines from head-on.
2) The front wing endplates were too big.
The car looks great in these shots though:

Well, to be a bit more correct with my previous post, I'd like to replace the F2008 with this:
BMW Sauber F1.08
Posted 18 February 2015 - 00:41
Always thought the Minardi M193 was a pretty car, and was a bit of a Williams-lite in terms of design... I can imagine the internals of the car were a far cry from the active suspension wizardry of the FW15C though...

That I believe is Colin McRae behind the wheel... also it has the late 1995 rear wheel fairings which add to the beauty of the car. Good spot for digging this out but I posted the original liveried car as it's the one that raced.

Ligier JS37.
Gorgeous livery, too.
Posted 18 February 2015 - 01:00
Tyrrell 020 was nice too, smart colour scheme as well... Sauber, this is how you use grey as a dominant colour.
What I liked about a lot of these early 90's cars is that aerodynamic knowledge was progressing yet this was one of the last times where the cars were designed by a lead designer and a small team of assistants, and thus they bore a lot of aesthetic touches that nowadays CFD would chip away at...

BRM P207. Horribly uncompetitive but still attractive, and a great engine note.
We are going to have to start an 'Engine Note' thread now you know.

Probably the prettiest car of the 70's
