I enjoy some photogenic scenes. I enjoy the classic F1 picture topic a great lot, too.
Would like to collect as many of pictures of - as sad as it may be - abandoned F1 stuff.
Things like tracks; Hockenheim, old Monza, abondonded F1 cars collecting dust, etc.
let's see how many we can find
Former European GP - Valencia, Spain
France
Rouen-les-Essarts
Monza
hockenheim
fuji
Mclaren Honda - warning; this may be shocking
bMW F1 car in turkey
Toyota F1
Not sure if F1, still.....
F1: the abandoned and deserted.

Yep. I like old tracks too.
This is a good book: http://www.amazon.co...e/dp/1904788319
I see my photo of Hockenheim from 2006 appears uncredited once again. There are quite a few copies of it kicking about the internet now.

What the hell happened to Hockenheim in just 1 year? It looks like Amazonia.

If you have only a single picture you made being uncredited again at the internet, then you are lucky. I've lost counting by now so Í'll stop complaining.
Rue #1 on postiong pics at Internet: Be prepared to see them appear elswhere without your credits unluss you watermark you picture somehow.

The suspension (or lack thereof) and bodywork makes it clear that those are most likely show cars, but that doesn’t explain leaving them outside. What?
F1 cars parked in the streets? Is that hoax?
I’m surprised the Hockenheim straights aren’t ‘greener’ yet.

The Toyota one is probably an attempt at a replica. Somebody's hobby project.
And the Turkey one is probably some show car left over from promoting the GP.

It's a pic of part of the old Hockenheim track in case you're not just kidding around, like with those pics of the Monza banking.

I love this stuff, because I get a hard on for urban decline and the more vibrant a place was the more captivating it is in decline (theme parks, shopping centres etc). So a racetrack, where so much energy and technology and skill has been taken back by nature is just beautiful.
Why is Valencia such a shithole now btw? that seems real quick.
Also, and im going to regret asking this, but where is this?
France
Ive seen it in many pics before but never looked up what track it is.

It is really interesting to see these for that reason, another nerdy side interest for me is abandoned/decaying rail infrastructure which is literally everywhere in the mid-atlantic part of the US (and probably the rest of the country as well).
I'd guess Valencia looks so crappy because it's in an industrial port and was built in what appears to be an underutilized section of the larger port that is full of storage facilities and yacht docks, plus the general decline in the Spanish economy so there may not be much $$$ to renovate the area after all the money they dropped on the track. Shame, because I'd love to visit that city and an F1 race would be a nice perk.
Edit- looks like theives have stolen even the wiring for the lightposts around the track, plus anything else of value-

Indeed it's the Reims-Gueux track.
There's a group of local enthusiasts who are trying to preserve and rebuild the remnants of the old pit-buildings.
It's quite nice to visit when you're in the neighborhood, also they organize sometimes classic car meetings at the old track.
also as someone else mentioned before the book Autodrome: The lost race circuits of Europe is quite a good read on this subject.

Ken Block filmed one of his Gymkhana films there: https://www.youtube....h?v=4TshFWSsrn8
Noticed he did but found it sort of sacrilegious to post it in conjunction with such a historic track
Now that I watched your link, not so much, it was quite good fun thanks

I.E. when are the Valencia photos from? 2015...or two days after the last race?
Where is that Mclaren Honda/who does it belong to?
Likewise the BMW and Toyota? I'm not convinced those two are actual F1 cars to be honest, they don't even look as basic as being converted to showcars.

The old Tyrell factory in Ockham...
When BAT bought Tyrell, HONDA were rumoured to be purchasing the building to launch their eventually mothballed works team in 1999. It is now used for non-motorsport activities, but is stll called 'The Tyrell Building' so some legacy remains at least....

Slightly off-topic - but his was the reception area of a self-storage company based in Milton Keynes, which contained not one but two old F1 cars. In the centre of the picture is an Arrows A1 in Warsteiner livery and behind the red sofa is an Arrows A10 in USF&G colours.
Why were they here? Well the company was called Arrows Self-Storage and it occupied the old Arrows F1 factory in Bletchley.
Sadly Arrows Self-Storage has followed the F1 team into oblivion.

So google maps is still showing the old Oran Park circuit in Sydney, but with some sort of overlay that shows the roads they've built over the top:
A tragedy, the worst part is naming the streets that have taken away the circuit after drivers who raced there

if you go for 'walk' so to speak on google earth/maps around Interlagos, the photos were obviously taken on a day when there hadn't been an event for a while - it looks surprisingly drab and neglected. And as for the surrounding streets.... not a pretty part of town.
Re Brooklands. There was talk recently of tidying up what's left of it and making more of a museum attraction. I've still yet to get down and see it.

I believe the bit to be tidied up is the bit in Mercedes World, or whatever it's called. My pic is of the section which skirts the public park. You can't really tell but it's very steep on the banked section where I was standing!

I almost forgot, this isn't F1 either but I'd drive my car past this track every time I went to the beach when I still lived in Miami, it was used for the GTP/CART races in the 80s and again in the early 90s. Half the track was torn up when they built the American Airlines arena just down Biscayne Blvd, but the other half sat there as a public park until it was finally turned into an art museum and the last traces of the original indy course are gone other than some double-layer Armco as you approach the bridge to Miami Beach-
