I've owned a Playstation. Currently own an N64 with a copy of F1 World Grand Prix. I'm pondering buying a Sega Dreamcast and I am excited at finding out that F1 World G.P. is available on the Sega console as well! Have a look:

Thing is, I'd love to hold out part 2 of the Sony Playstation but I also don't look forward to the same old Psygnosis crap. The original game was great since you could hook up 2 playstations and take on the rest of the field with your buddy or kick his ass as well :) However, F1 97 left me feeling detached from the racing experience! The 98 version was a stinker and I am not hearing good things for this years version. I'm also apprehensive about the Gran Turismo series and subsequent titles. I'm sure the next one will have a 1000 titles but, with 900 of them be crappy sedans? :(

Please mario, hold out till PS2 arrives. You'll thank me afterwards (well, probably not ;)). You must have seen screen shots of such 'car' games as GT2000, and Ridge Racer V. These aren't F1, but think if these titles look, and hopefully, play as good as they have the potential of doing, think of what a (or an?) F1 game would be like. The control would be better, well, that's my opinion. The graphics would be better, that's a fact, not opinion. At most the DC can pull 6 million Polygons a sec, 3 mill with all the effects. PS2 pulls 75 mill Poly's a sec, 15 mill with all effects. But there are also other games out there that have nothing to do with cars. 'The Bouncer' for example. I downloaded a video, and now I'll but this game sometime, when I eventually get a PS2. Take a look: Bouncer movies Especially the tird one - Gameplay Matrix Style. I couold go on some more about Tekken Tag Tournament etc, etc, but instead end this post here. Well, after my sig actually ;)

Ps: I'll post some url's for some PSXII sites if you ask me to.

This is a pre-rendered shot from the DC. I expect that the PS2 will run an F1 game with graphics like these, if not better.

I really think the DC graphics and speed are very good but I´m going to rely on my expirence and wait till PSX2 comes out. I mean, after the success of the original PSX I believe that the second part is gonna be amazing. Besides, everyone wants to design games for PSX2 and thats good for all of us.
Anyway, my favorite system is still the PC.

G-R,
I don´t think that sort of graphics will ever be available in a console game. Maybe in a movie, but not where you can play.

Well, that first screenshot with the Jordan at Imola seems very dated!
Look at the track map; it was the first thing I noticed; it's got a final double chicane, no Villeneuve or Tamburello chicane, and the Acque Minerali looks like the Bus Stop from Spa-Francorchamps!
Reminiscent of the 1990 season I believe.

I asked a representative of the biggest gaming company in the world if they had lost faith in the Dreamcast. His reply was 'You can't lose what you never had in the first place.' By contrast, they'll have a dozen new PSX2 titles ready at launch. I'd expect other software developers to follow suit.

Moral - PSX2. Its DVD and online capability will dominate the console market. Dreamcast has a limited future. Of course, you could always enjoy the best gaming machine of all, and simply get a good PC... :)

Real time, in-game graphics of RR5. These probably will be better buy the time of release.
