I'm so sick of seeing men taking the jobs of women, further proof that F1 is a male dominated sport. It's 2015, people, wake up!

Then I think he has to have that conversation with his wife. ;)

It's a well known fact that men are better at holding things than women. My Lovely lady always takes advantage of this feature when we go food shopping.

Bwhahahahaha! I lol'd really hard at this.  :rotfl:

Its funny tbh. Living in Amsterdam myself, its very ''open'' and modern in here. Gay rights, red light districts and legalization of weed etc. I don't like any of it, but I can be proud of the fact that we as a nation will deny making our country another Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. But my opinions differ when it comes to feministic point of views. Look at the porn industry for example, women are glorified, whilst men are just objectified as pieces of meat. We are just not as vocal about it, since most of us just don't care.

Yeah, I found it funny. "The evil patriarchy is oppressing these women by having them half-naked on the grid, let's end this!" Result: many women are now out of a job, replaced by men. Oooopppsss.

Good news for me. I'm a young man, bodybuilder and have a handsome enough look. I suppose I should try.

You realise that gays also have rights in most other European countries as well ? Even Catholic Ireland.

Girls such as the ones appearing on F1 grids should, and probably are, proud of their bodies. At the end of the day, many people believe that the female anatomy is overall more aesthetic than the male one. It´s a case of having a comparative advantage. No matter how much some extremists, feminists mostly, want to create affirmative action in many areas, there will always be some jobs, activities at which women are better than men, and others at which men will be better than women. Can men do these mostly female jobs? Sure. Can women do these mostly male jobs? Of course. Should they? They can, but it's not going to be as effective, efficient or nice as if the proper person of the proper gender was doing it. In other words, women are nicer to look at overall so if you want to make something look prettier in general, clothes, an art exhibit inaguration, a movie, an F1 grid, hire a female.

How about grid couples?

Also make them cross-dress to satisfy even the most twisted minds.

There are marketing studies that prove that people from both genders prefer looking at one gender more than the other. Interesting huh... no prizes for guessing which one.   ;)

Who cares?

Grid men, grid women... nice looking people are nice looking people. Perhaps they could have both at once?

It won't stop the uneducated from screaming "GAY!" I suppose, but they are beyond help.

What are these poor grid boys forcing down your throat? And how is this "man hating"? Are you saying then that grid girls were "women hating"? Isn't that what feminists say and why they object to such things?

I'd assume that is also true of the guys (or anyone being a model). I do not think these guys were forced there against their will.

Man hating. Ah yes, that famously oppressed gender.

I have a bit of a problem with the concept of using a person, regardless of gender,  as an ornament.

But I don't think i care enough to get my knickers in a twist.

No you have to dig deeper. The reason they dont want models to do this kinda job is because men like to maybe occasionally peak at them. Its the fact that it migh please some Men that gets on their nerv. I dont trust them at all. Why is this an issue now? Because the minority of women are very loud on the internet. Should let other women do what they want. Imagine a guy telling what women should enjoy and respect in men. The reverse is happening here. I dont go to womens spaces and make demands, to me thats crazy. To them its alright.

Word hating is overused, but since every1 does it... I dont like it but using that word will counter their crap and make them feel equally bad.

No, not really. I doubt most people at home even noticed there were boys this week, unless they pay much attention to the grid walk.

The thing about the 21st century is that math supercedes reason.

"Equal rights" means the right to do something.  It doesn't mean "everything where one sex does something, there must be an equal account of the opposite sex".  That's completely intellectual empty non-sense.

There are differences between men and women, and it's utterly moronic to pretend otherwise.

This looks like most posts are being recycled from the same thread on the WEC, but I'll still bite and make this point- where is the evidence that feminists are forcing grid girls out of the picture? There isn't any. FOM/corporate sponsors are making marketing decisions based on social acceptance and market research. They weren't taken to court by women who feel objectified, they just decided to go a new direction to grow different fan bases or sell a certain image to sponsors. Like I said in the other thread too, we are here to watch/discuss races. No one is limiting your right to look at the billions of photos of scantily clad/nude women out there in the world, and for all of us here that's all grid girls are anyway- a photo, with a car in the background. Who cares?

I personally know a grid girl and she's an avid F1 fan from childhood, and for her that job is a fantastic opportunity to see F1 from behind the scenes and see her favourite drivers and she couldn't care less what the feminist crowd thinks about her.

There are many things that need to be fixed in F1. This is not one of them.

Really, if you're organizing a grand prix and want to push for equality by having grid boys instead of grid girls, you should treat them equally. Let's face it, grid girls are dressed to look sexy; they either show a fair amount of skin or they wear tight dresses that flatter their figure. I'm sure all the male models in Monaco spend a lot of time in the gym to get in shape, and I'm sure they had preferred an outfit with a tighter fit to show off things like their shoulders, pecs, butt... Hell, some of the mechanics are wearing tighter shirts than the Tag Heuer polo shirt, and besides, people get to see their legs.

It hasn't been fixed. It has been modified, for the better.

The desperation of men on the internet to show how RUDDY, BLOODY BLOKEY they are is just pathetic.

Personally I think it was good to see some blokes instead of the usual grid girls, we as a male dominated sport often forget not every fan is a heterosexual male. What would be even better was if we got rid of grid people all together.

You forgot to mention that while she's at it, she gets paid to do whatever she does, and a fair bit. A lot of us won't get that sort of access even when we may pay plenty of money... cause we ain't celebrity.

I personally think that which is truly pathetic is feelings empowering a small but vocal minority of people to impinge on other's rights, and the belief that they're right to do so while at it... but that's just me. I think choice matters, and the fact that a minority voices itself and suggests it is speaking for everyone, that is just plain baffling. This coming from a guy who's brown and faced some racist stuff in real life (not forums), including an attempt to run me down while crossing a street. I'd rather them lot not speak for me because they don't respect everyone's rights,,as they clearly 'feel' and act as some are more important than others.

You think you will be safe when they impose a curfew on you because of your gender? This is exactly what happened in Colombia, and people have been speaking about it for years in UK.
