I happened upon a question on this forum regarding Ken Bowen, a Mini racing driver famous at Llandow in the 1960's. Unfortunately I could not comment on that forum, it was dated from 2011. Ken was a member of the Baglan Racing Team, running purple Mini's, a later car was sponsored by Everwarm Homes. Ken started me on my motor racing path, at first by accompanying him on his race meetings, then later by building my first race engine for me. A real 'larger than life' figure, he was an excellent engineer, building and maintaining his own car. His tow or road car was never left standard, I had the pleasure of driving his Jaguar 3.8 Mk11, something I will never forget. Sadly Ken passed away a few days ago, on June 7th in his home city of Swansea. Hopefully people will remember Ken from those days, he was certainly a person you couldnt forget.
