This Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!!!!!!

One day only, tune in to your national tv provider / preferred method of viewing to see the AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX for your entertainment!

How much would you bet on a new winner? $500? $700? $10,000? How about $12.00!?!?!?!? Because chances are we'll have another victory from one of the three winners so far, and while Lewis deserves the wins he's had, we could really do with it being one of the two Germans to liven up the championship fight.

Lewis Hamilton starts on pole, his 45th drawing level with Sebastian Vettel, who seems to be our only hope of a competition at the front. Lower down, we have the Red Bulls out of position due to grid penalties, as well as Kimi Raikkonen after another lacklustre qualifying. McLaren are still nowhere, while Nico Hulkenberg managed to put in a season best 5th place after his cars' stunning Le Mans victory. Williams put in a good showing on Friday, indicating that Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas aren't out of this yet in 4th and 6th. The grid;

1 Lewis Hamilton Mercedes 1m08.455s

2 Nico Rosberg Mercedes 1m08.655s 0.200s

3 Sebastian Vettel Ferrari 1m08.810s 0.355s

4 Felipe Massa Williams/Mercedes 1m09.192s 0.737s

5 Nico Hulkenberg Force India/Mercedes 1m09.278s 0.823s

6 Valtteri Bottas Williams/Mercedes 1m09.319s 0.864s

7 Max Verstappen Toro Rosso/Renault 1m09.612s 1.157s

8 Felipe Nasr Sauber/Ferrari 1m09.713s 1.258s

9 Romain Grosjean Lotus/Mercedes

10 Pastor Maldonado Lotus/Mercedes 1m10.374s

11 Marcus Ericsson Sauber/Ferrari 1m10.426s

12 Carlos Sainz Toro Rosso/Renault 1m10.465s

13 Sergio Perez Force India/Mercedes 1m12.522s

14 Kimi Raikkonen Ferrari 1m12.867s

15 Daniil Kvyat Red Bull/Renault 1m09.694s

16 Roberto Merhi Marussia/Ferrari 1m14.071s

17 Will Stevens Marussia/Ferrari 1m15.368s

18 Daniel Ricciardo Red Bull/Renault 1m10.482s

19 Fernando Alonso McLaren/Honda 1m10.736s

20 Jenson Button McLaren/Honda 1m12.632s

The Questions;

Can Vettel take it to the Mercs?

Will Hulkenberg maintain his pace in the race?

Was Williams practice form real?

Where will Raikkonen Finnish?

What lap will we see another Honda detonation?

Why am I asking you these questions?

So come on down to the Red Bull Ring for your weekend opportunity to complain about F1!!

Where will Raikkonen Finnish?

[...]

He got Finnish by birth in Finland. :p :p :p :p

Just kidding, English isn't my mother tongue either and I make mistakes as well.  :cat:

Although it you were playing with words, good played.

And, hoping for some rain here. I can't see my guys at the lower part of the grid advancing unless it rains. :stoned:

Let's say Vettel, Rosberg, Hulkenberg.

Kimi will get to fifth and then battle for fourth.

Verstappen will struggle to hold onto position, and the rest of the Red Bulls struggle moving up.

The Honda cars will finish.

You are asking these questions because others are already preparing their 'What a crap show' speeches.

There will be rain and the speeches will get soaked.

Bold predictions, I know.

Judging by recent history Max and the Lotii are most likely to crash if it gets wet.

Hulk may be in for a good finish if he jumps Massa and Bottas is concerned by passing his teammate.

Hulk the dark horse and Nasr the darker, dark horse.

Thats brave....

I'm a 'the fuel tanks doubled up' kind of guy.

And the weather is looking more and more interesting, so maybe Alonso can even get into the points.

(I'll stop before I curse it.)

Can Vettel take it to the Mercs?  I've put all my faith in him.....

Will Hulkenberg maintain his pace in the race? I think Bottas will get him at least. But P6-P7 is possible

Was Williams practice form real? Doubt it. But would be awesome if so

Where will Raikkonen Finnish? He is Finnish....so yes.

What lap will we see another Honda detonation? Have faith....I say that Jenson will see the chequered flag.....but Alonsos car will give up in lap 14....

Looks like there is definitely a chance of rain but it depends a lot on which forecast you look at.  That forecast shows 90-100% chance of rain during the race, weather.com shows 20-30%, and weatherunderground shows 30-50%.

Can Vettel take it to the Mercs? Beer after the race? Yes, unless they take it to him.

Will Hulkenberg maintain his pace in the race? No, he will have to slow down for corners, pit stops and so on.

Was Williams practice form real? Yes, we all saw practice, they were definitely real.

Where will Raikkonen Finnish? He's Finnish everywhere.

What lap will we see another Honda detonation? In Button's and Alonso's.

Why am I asking you these questions? 'Coz people on the internet ALWAYS know best. :p

Now that Alonso is out of the top battles, finally I found myself a driver to cheer for in Hulkenberg.

Their forecast changed within 15 minutes of my post.     Sometimes I think flipping a coin is just as accurate as weather forecasts.

Other questions:

1. Will Mclaren be lapped before lap 5? (considering the penalties to be taken).

2. Will Mclaren reach Manor until the end or will be a 19-20?

You will watch a SC parade if it rains.

And then they'll only let them race once the track is suitable for inters because they don't dare risk racing on wet tyres anymore.

Good question: You're loosing around 12-14 seconds in the first lap if you're on the back. Than the stop and go for Jenson will probably cost around 35 seconds. So we are on 50 seconds already. McLaren will be around 2 seconds slower than Merc I guess, maybe even more due to the traffic, so they have an additional time lost of 10-15 seconds. Now we have a little bit more than one minute. It's not impossible :rotfl:

For the sake of McLaren's (and especially Button's) dignity I really hope for some sort of freak Safety Car early on due to a drove of hares attempting to participate in the Grand Prix.

Viewer discretion is advised. No animals were hurt in the making of this imaginary proposition.

Don't know how cold it is today, but if the conditions are like they were when it rained in FP3, I wouldn't be surprised to see a safety car. Even people on extreme wets could barely get around.

Suzuka 2014 was quite rainy even after the SC was in again it started to rain quite heavy after a while (eventhought the end overshades everything  )

Can Vettel take it to the Mercs?

No I think he will stop in the Ferrari pitbox.

Will Hulkenberg maintain his pace in the race?

Yes. In the race we will see the pace he has in the race. His race pace. It rhymes. He will maintain in through the race. After the race he will leave it at the finish line.

Was Williams practice form real?

Yes. Although reports suggested practice didn't happen it did happen and Williams was part of practice. So practice did actually happen.

Where will Raikkonen Finnish?

Helsinki

What lap will we see another Honda detonation?

Every lap this year is a Honda detonation.

Why am I asking you these questions?

No on really knows. Probably because you already have the answers.

So come on down to the Red Bull Ring for your weekend opportunity to complain about F1!!

I can't. I'm watching it from home. When is the next IndyCar race?

Watch out for Massa and Vettel at the start.

Kimi won't even break the top 6, I fear, thus signalling his final act for Ferrari has now begun.

An opportune moment for Bottas or Hulkenberg to have a great race.

Hamilton will win.

I was hoping for rain. We might see some McLaren driver brilliance if thats the case and it will mix the field up.
