This image at the Revs Institute is clearly of a Lotus 12 (somewhat modified) at Brands Hatch I think 16th October 1960 Race number looks like 41

I would be very keen to learn who the entrant is and thus I believe can trace which Lotus 12 it is.

I am sure that TNF will come up trumps again.

For some reason the photo won't load onto my phone, but in the Lewis-Evans Trophy F2 race at Brands on 16th October 1960 the F1R Black Book lists number 41 as Gordon Jones driving Lotus 12 chassis 355.

Wow! I wish I'd seen that photo when I was racing my 1960 series.

Then again, I would have been madly trying to find out what colour the car was because it certainly doesn't appear to be dark green.

I couldn't access the pic last night either...

So I've modded it a bit:

Mike, is that the chassis with the high tail which Alan Baillie had at Goodwood a couple of years ago?

Chassis 355. Many thanks. Yes this initially was built 9/7/57, painted green, for Dennis Taylor an Eltham Off Licence proprietor. I am told that Mike Costin and Keith Duckworth helped run/maintain the car (moonlighting?) Post delivery the high tail was added by Frank Coltman. At some point a Lola Mk 1 rear suspension was added but when? In this Gordon Jones picture it still has its Chapman Strut.  Off to America around 1961  John Streets of Redwood City bought its in 1972 and kept it for around 30 years. Sold to Alan Baillie it returned to the UK, I believe he still has the car today.

I heard that Alan has resorted to running a conventional gearbox in series with the engine. It still retains the Lola Mk1 rear suspension.

John Streets lent his complete 5 speed Queerbox to Bill Friend UK  who used it to make three replica gearboxes (cases in aluminium rather than the original magnesium). A long and difficult project with the costs shared by Robert De Lano Sutherland of Colorado who was building a replica Lotus 12 at that time.

      Thanks for the prompt information
