As we know recent years have seen Hollywood finally get to grips with how to craft motor-racing films and documentaries, with the releases of Senna and Rush both being released to critical acclaim and helping to shrug off the tarnish that came from films such as Driven previously. Of this recent spate of films the one that most intrigued me was was 2014's Gonchi, made about the late driver Gonzalo Rodriguez who passed away in 1999. Whilst I understand that the film was made by Uruguayan film-makers about the most successful driver the country ever had it is still a left-field figure considering the fact he failed to make it into a top level series, and yet the film is a wonderful piece of cinema which I would recommend to most F1 fans.
But it did get me thinking about things, and led me to this challenge Can you give ANY racing driver a movie? Whether it be a multi-time champion or a mediocre and forgettable one-timer?
The challenge therefore is for people to make trailers or photoshopped posters for F1 or motor racing films, the more left-field and undeserving the better.
I mean who wouldn't want to see Markus Winklehock or Taki Inoue in their own film?!
The stage is yours everyone.
