Hi guys could anyone help with the winners of the ACU star championships.

They were run for many years alongside the main British Championship.

I have all the champions from the 50's,60's but missing a few others.

When ever I've had some missing results before people on here have been really helpful.

 

1958-1979

I have all the results from these years.

The Star system was run for 125/250/350/500 and Sidecar classes from 58 to 65 before being scrapped for 7 years.

Only the 125/250 classes were run as star classes 1973-79. The 350/500/750 classes formed the ACU British Solo Championship.

 

 

1980

1981

I have no results so any would be helpful, old copies of MCN show they were run but sadly i have no final championship standings. I understand the 500 class was dropped after 82.

Not much use to you from an accuracy point of view, but I think Paul Tinker retained one his Star titles in 1983, and just missed out on the other one to either Donnie or Neil Robinson, and also Garry Dickinson should be in there as a 125 champion around the mid 80's.

Sorry I only have fading memories rather than facts, but at least it gives you some fodder for Google searches.
