ANOTHER week goes by without an answer on the PDF's Weekly Newsletter.!!!!!

 

Please fix this for us!

Since - again - the new website's been around, everything's fine on my computer (Mac) but as soon as I try to access Autosport Plus on my iPhone, it regales me with the joys of paying up and joining Autosport Plus. I'VE BEEN A PAID UP MEMBER SINCE NUVOLARI'S BEEN RACING MOTORBIKES!!!!

 

Nonetheless, I patiently put in my (correct) username and password and it immediately... regales me with the joys of paying up and joining Autosport Plus!

 

I've been round this seemingly infinite loop many times and it's always the same. I've checked and rechecked my password. When I got on for this session (on the Mac) it recognised me (due to cookies) so I logged off and reentered my username and password manually. All good, so I have that detail correctly locked into my memory banks.

 

So why the bleep bleep is this happening on my iPhone, please, Autosport propellor heads? My (iPhone) settings haven't changed, I'm not unrecognised by any other paywall sites. The only thing that has changed is the Autosport site. 

 

I have paid you money to subscribe to Autosport Plus and I can't currently get it on my iPhone. I would appreciate a response pronto.

The PDFs on the old site aren't working at the moment, but we're working on a better solution for the new site rather than trying to get it patched up on the old site.

 

The way that the classic site was creating PDFs is a bit out of date now that most browsers can do this themselves, so our plan is to create a print-ready version of all articles (news stories as well as Autosport Plus features) which you can then create PDFs of in the article page themselves.

 

In the meantime (or if you want better PDFs once we've built this), I would recommend the Full Page Screen Capture extension to the Chrome browser. If you get the settings right with this, you can get much better PDFs than our homemade PDF creator could make on the old site!

I've just tried logging in as you on an iPhone and the account is working properly, so I'm at a tiny bit of a loss as to what the problem here might be.

 

Can I ask you to try this URL rather than the login from the homepage - http://www.autosport.com/userlogin

 

It may also be worth clearing your browser cookies or trying a different browser such as Chrome to see if that's working any better. If it works in another browser then I know that the problem is with Safari so that I can give our developers some information to help fix this...

 

I'm leaving this discussion in the public forum rather than a PM in case anyone else has encountered the same problem.

Is there a way to get rid of that verkachte 'Facebook' tab floating on the right side, overlaying what is in the timing / results box?

 

 

And I still see no need force-feeding some social media down our collective throats over others.

Do you mean red "Feedback" tab mate ?

 

If so that's really annoying me.

It does cover the timing/results box and basically just gets in the way for no good reason.

I even clicked on it and gave the feedback in the hope it would then disappear................but it didn't.

 

I understand there's much bigger things to work on such as log in issues, but it's just plain stupid to have it there.

Especially after the feedback has been given.
