And gracefully shook his hand while thanking him for all his service to racing. All my current angst at F1 immediately evaporated, but it was cool.

That's it.

Not thread material, but still an awesome moment.

So what you're saying is that you bottled it?

I was lucky enough to meet JT, MS and Luca at the 430 Scuderia launch in 2007. MS gave a quick speech then somehow vanished into thin air when all the journalists moved toward the podium where he was standing.

Luca held court like King Arthur.

JT was standing off to the side by himself and wryly observing everything. This was at the height of Spygate and I think I mentioned something about it to him which resulted in a very unimpressed look and him walking away. A man of few words it seemed.

Should have told him that he's ruined motorsport in an impressive amount of time.

It was here in NYC. Yeah, I looked in his eyes.

It was good practice for when I bump into Bernie. I'll know how to keep emotions in check and give hime some truths.

LOL

You know, I wanted to make that joke as well. Honestly. There was a Dutch writer who wrote: 'Dat is toch Godt geklaagt'. (So two spellng-errors on purpose!). But I did not think that the joke would work with non-Dutchies as well!

That's nice. Todt is indeed one of the great names in motorsport history!

You should have done this:

Yes, because physical violence is a great response to personal discontent about a sport.

Don't know what that is. Does it itch? Because if it itches, then yeah, I think I might have some of it.

OP, do you mean you just met jean todt, and chatted to him man to man, or you were an audience member at some event where he spoke? The two are very very different.

Lewis Hamilton shook my hand, then saw my Big Pun (a now deceased latino rapper) t-shirt, so shook it again in the way rappers do and say "that's a sick t-shirt, man"

It's probably the highlight of my life

Lewis Hamilton jumped over the pit wall and waved at me just before FP1 in Silverstone a couple of years back!

On reflection, it could have been a general wave, as there were several hundred other people sitting around me at the time.    ;)

Todt has been a total disaster. I can't say anything positive about what he has done so far as FIA president.

That looks like the Queen of Zamunda (Eddie Murphy's Mum in Coming To America) in the red dress.

I bet her and King Jaffey Joffa could come up with a much better Qualifying format than Jean and Bernie.

Todt should work for a road safety charity and leave F1 to someone else.
