The most anticipated round of the 2015/2016 Formula E Season has come: a huge achievement for the category to race in the streets of Paris after another good showing in Long Beach!
Paris, a city where cultures mixed together in time, leading to extraordinary cultural, artistic & humanistic achievements. Formula E will race in one of the most iconic locations in the city center, Les Boulevard des Invalides, around the iconic Hotel des Invalides.
What happened last race
Two weeks ago Formula E was racing in the streets of Long Beach, another milestone in the Formula E Calendar. In front of thousands of fans, Lucas Di Grassi managed to take victory after an initial battle with the poleman Sam Bird.
The brazilian managed to overtake the englishman, wich later went too deep on the brakes and went straight on, losing positions.
In the opening laps it was Buemi to loose his cool, crashing in the back of Robin Frijns while attempting to come back after a disappointing quali.
Championship standings
With 5 rounds remaining, the championship battle is going to ignite in Paris!
Lucas di Grassi now leads by just 1 point on Sebastien Buemi, but Sam Bird & Jerome D'Ambrosio are not to underestimate, with a less than 40 points gap from the lead.
Paris Formula E Circuit
Lenght: 2 Km
Turns: 14
It's going to be a real street challenge for the Formula E cars: the circuit combines fast sections with very technical ones & slow speed corners, similar to last year's Berlin's circuit. The track surface is going to be a challenge, with different kinds of surface & grip levels.
Some cobblestones sections were tarmac-ed on to preserve them from damage.
Looking at the early weather forecast, it MIGHT rain on saturday. First ever wet Formula E race?
