Western Australian rider Daniel Chadbund lost his life on 30 April 2016 at Barbagallo Raceway in Perth's northern suburb of Wanneroo, West Australia.
He was reported to be the fifth rider to be killed at the Barbagallo Raceway since it was opened in 1969.
His death came six years after 24-year-old Cameron Elliott’s fatal crash on Christmas Day in 2009 at the same track. After Cameron Elliott’s death, his father Scott Elliott started a petition by Change.org, calling for State Government funding to improve the raceway and remove the earth-moving tyres. The petition reads: "... in the last 16 years, 5 motorcycle riders have lost their lives at Barbagallo Raceway, Western Australia as a result of hitting solid barriers..."
As far as I know, in 2007 the reigning West Australian Superstock champion Levi Di Candilo was killed during a practice session. And in 2005 Nigel Dickin, sometime nicknamed "Krumm", passed away in consequence of an accident which occurred during a Supermoto club race.
Who was the fifth fatality at the track?
