Indy 500 1966: car no.79

Lads, I've come across some pictures of car no.79 from the 1966 500. It looks a strange thing, two engines front and rear? Doing a little research on the internet brings up virtually nothing (that I can find), it doesn't look like it even qualified, can any of you help with info? Thanks in advance.
