As a matter of interest, a national survey in Norway published 2021 found that a majority of people in all age groups, even those of age 15-20, preferred reading news and articles of interest by means of media printed on paper.

Yes, the high tide of e-books and e-readers does seem to have ebbed substantially.  It just ain't the same as printed stuff.

The rule of use it or lose it surely applies...?

This thread certainly does seem to be following a circular route these days, recovering old, old ground.

You're right Doug, but it's no problem. Most of us on here are too old to remember the first time things appeared.

I signed up with Readly - a great app that has all the top mags for a few quid a month - but I've gone back to print. I like seeing them lined up on my shelves.

Readly is superficially attractive but it is not for me . I like magazines in the  traditional form and I also am happy to pay for them . It seems short term-ism to me when the real price of almost free content is the terminal decline of specialist titles. I have yet to meet a rich car or motoring journalist , but many folk now seem to resent paying at all . Weird, when so many of us happily fork out the price of a magazine (with thousands  of words of copy and hundreds of pictures )  on a couple of flat white coffees

I really do think this thread has more than outlived its usefulness. Let’s let it rest in peace.
