A little advanced info......here at the Hertfordshire Film Show on 15th October  at SG11 2JL our guest speaker all day will be international rally driver and outright winner of the Tulip Rally in 1965 in a Hillman Imp..Rosemary Smith we are also expecting her great friend Alec Poole to be in attendance as well plus features on other lady drivers.

 

Alec was with us in May and as Allan says Alec is great fun and full of stories - Paddy of course is a gem and a national treasure - those of you going to a place which co-incidentally appears to be my namesake are guaranteed a fun evening.

Blimey! I hope he doesn't arrive in that.....bit too advanced for our neck of the woods...they don't Elvis is dead yet

Don't worry it was not his. It belonged to Sunseeker motor yachts a Westland Augusta twin turbine 7 seater with approaching 200mph capability.With precision flying by Marcus Dodd.He did Herts to Poole in half an hour  for a meeting connected with the Sunseaker Rally in Bournemouth. Paddy is a lovely bloke  full of fun you will have a great time as is Alec.

He'd have a job parking that outside the Bull, but he could probably land it a few hundred yards away at the top of Hinton Hill, scene of the famous battle in 577 AD.

Indeed, Richard, and the escarpment slope mentioned in your link is the same slope up which the old Dyrham hillclimb used to run, a stone's throw to the south.
