We all know the drivers who made it to Formula 1 or other major world series, but I'm sure that there are many interesting drivers around the world.
I've just learned about Iranian rally driver Laleh Seddigh. She was taught to drive by her father when she was just 13. She has won quite a few rallies, including the first race that she was allowed to race in after a local ayatollah decreed that women racing was not un-Islamic. Her wikipedia page says that she is a PhD student.
I'm not too familiar with Rally, which is possibly how I missed learning about her. I see that there was a BBC documntary about her, which I'll try to track down.
Any other interesting racers out there that forumites would recommend checking out?
