In the last 3 years this race would have been the final race of the season, as the season ended previously after 19 races. This year there are stil two more races to go after that one. However, the championship could be decided this weekend if Rosberg wins and Hamilton is not finishing at least 9th. Either way if the German wins the championship is all but decided. The odds are good: Last year he took probably his most impressive win of the season on this venue, which returned for the first time since 1992 on the F1 calendar. But it wouldnt be surprising either if we are going to see another twist in this championship fight.
Interesting tyre choices, particulary from Mercedes, as they are attempting to get through the weekend with just five sets of SS. Pretty sure that they will try to qualify on soft tyres. Generally more conservative tyre choices than usual, which should promise an interesting weekend!
Layout should favour high-powered teams, though the altitude can shift this a bit around as we saw last year. However, anything else than a Mercedes win would be surprising, unless the rain arrives.
The weather forecast meanwhile indicates dry weather throughout the weekend, however some showers are possible
Sadly Pirelli wont have any sombreros this weekend (duh)
(ah, another funny Rosberg podium picture)
Maybe they could wear a cap and a sombrero?
Either way be aware of the Changing Daylight Saving Times this weekend.
