No plans to sell Buddh circuit, despite owners' $9 billion of debts

Jaypee Group, the owners of former Indian GP venue Buddh International Circuit, have no plans to sell the multi-million dollar facility, despite the conglomerate's financial problems.

The group, which has diverse interests in power, construction and real estate, recently failed to meet multiple obligations to pay off debts, which stood at nearly $9 billion at the end of March 31, 2016.

 

I wonder how much of that was related to the track and hosting F1...

I never understood why India had to host F1 in the first place. Just 1-2 races for the country...no?
