Hard to rate. At first it seemed total disaster. But after the 2nd restart it turned into a very entertaining race

Best Driver: Verstappen

Worst Driver: Grosjean

Best Overtake: Verstappen on Perez

Best Moment: Verstappen's save while chasing down Lewis

DRS + Tyres: tyres are an absolute farce in wet conditions, they need a major overhaul asap

The race in a sentence: Current regulations on parc ferme, ride heights and tyres are destroying wet races and what we witnessed today can no longer be tolerated for the future. Something must change in the rules to permit racing in these conditions.

Would have been 1/10 if not for great racing after they finally got underway, but in the end it's a 7/10.

Best Driver: Verstappen, Maylander.
Worst Driver: Grosjean for binning his car (and 7th place) before the race. Honorable mention to Charly Whiting
Best Team: Mercedes, didn't put a foot wrong

Worst Team: Red Bull, seriously. Why inters if rain is expected in 2-3 laps?!
Best Overtake: Verstappen on Perez, but he had a whole lot to choose from
Best Moment: Lap 55-71
DRS + Tyres: DRS not used this race.   Tires unusable in weather everyone commutes to work in.

And the race in a sentence: F1 hung himself and was saved again in one race.

Best Driver: Max 100% entertainment, Lewis 100% perfection
Worst Driver: Grosjean; didn't make it to the grid...
Best Team: Mercedes
Best Overtake: Lots of Max ones... maybe on Vettel. Nearly lost it on the kerb a couple corner beforehand when side by side with Vet.
Best Moment: Hamilton finally winning in Brazil. Also have to applaud Rosberg's save in S3.
DRS + Tyres: Who needs DRS...! Tyres need a bit of work
And the race in a sentence: Farce to fun. 7/10

Best Driver: Nasr
Worst Driver: Grosjean for throwing away such an opportunity before the race even started.
Best Team: Force India - Could have finished 3rd and 5th or 4th and 5th but for an unlucky puncture.
Best Overtake: Verstappen on Rosberg - the overtakes late in the race were on so much fresher tyres. This one was true quality.
Best Moment: Massa being cheered down the pitlane
Tyres: Make better wet weather tyres pirelli, (thoug understandably not helped by a distinct lack of testing.)
And the race in a sentence: Stop - Start. 6/10 For unnecessary second red flag.

Best Driver: Verstappen
Worst Driver: Grosjean
Best Team: Mercedes
Best Overtake: Max on Rosberg
Best Moment: Max's incredible save
DRS + Tyres: There was no DRS today. The Pirelli tyre is AWFUL,TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE AND DIABOLICAL
And the race in a sentence: Today Max showed why he will become a world champion in the future

Best Driver: Verstappen and Hamilton (let's not forget VER was losing lots of time when behind HAM - but his overtakes were super on new tyres and put Danny in deep shadow)

Worst Driver: Grosjean

Best Team: Mercedes
Best Overtake: Max on Perez
Best Moment: Massa's long walk

Best Driver: Lewis Hamilton (I gave it to him instead of Max in the end because he didn't make any mistakes at all);
Worst Driver: Romain Grosjean;
Best Team: Mercedes;

Worst Team: Red Bull;
Best Overtake: Verstappen on Rosberg
Best Moment: The last restart.
DRS + Tyres: Pirelli Wets
And the race in a sentence: Pure excitement for the second half, it deserves and 8/10. The First half deserves a 5/10 only, due to some crashes and some WTF moments. Overall I'd say 7/10.

Best Driver: Max Verstappen, excellent race by Lewis as well. Credits to Nasr and Ocon.
Worst Driver: Romain Grosjean
Best Team: Mercedes, Sauber

Worst Team: Red Bull
Best Overtake: Max on Perez, followed by some other Max moves

Best Moment: SC disappearing from the screen
DRS + Tyres: can't complain about DRS this time  :D.  We can complain about the current tyres, but maybe the parc ferme rules are the biggest problem.
And the race in a sentence: Life is waiting, with sometimes a moment of racing.

8/10

Best Driver: Maybe if he didn't drop it, Max. But this was a supreme drive by Lewis in very difficult conditions
Worst Driver: Grosjean
Best Team: Mercedes
Best Overtake: VES on ROS
Best Moment: Off-track, Massa getting an ovation. On-track, VES on ROS
DRS + Tyres: Not an issue in this race. Parc ferme rules need looking at for wet conditions
And the race in a sentence: The worst and best of modern F1.

DOTD: Max by a mile. Screw the mistake, it didn't cost him in the end and he showed his supreme skill saving it AND still managed to fend off barbie after gapping him after taking him round the outside. This was Max's day a million times over. It was only the team and him getting greedy on strategy (trying inters early) that let him down, he could easily have won this race on the same strategy as Hamilton. His wet driving today was up with the best I've ever seen and real heart of the mouth stuff, catching slides in the middle of apexes and on wet kerbs and wheel to wheel, overtaking world champions and generally making everyone look like they were struggling. One of the top 5 wet drives (strategy aside) of all time IMO.

Worst driver: Button

Best team: Merc

Best overtake: Ves on Ros

Best moment: Ves on Ros

DRS and Tyres: The comms were baffled as to why it was so hard to drive in a straight line on the straights in the wet. DH said it was never this hard. It's obviously the crap tyres and parc ferme rules contributing.

Race in sentence: Sprinklers in abu dhabi please

Worst Driver: Probably Grosjean...
Best Team: Mercedes
Best Overtake: Maxy on Checo
Best Moment: Massa's farewell
DRS + Tyres: no comment...

I gave it a 7/10 only because Verstappen's late charge was very entertaining

People are getting so blinded by those last laps with fresher tires and somehow forget that at some point in the race Max was behind Lewis and was losing time. In fact he almost bined it trying to stay in touch with Lewis. He was definitely entertaining today and had an awesome race, but Lewis was a level above everyone today.

He really couldn't have. It was only at the end on a little under 30 lap fresher tyres did he show faster pace than Hamilton. He probably would have beat Rosberg on the same strategy though.

Best Driver: Max Verstappen, honorable mention to Maylander and Hamilton for being the best to Merc drivers both drove flawless.
Worst Driver: Grosjean was just stupid.
Best Team: Mercedes
Worst team: RedBull made all the wrong calls
Best Overtake: Verstappen on Rosberg, honorable mentions to Verstappen on Raikkonen, Verstappen on Vettel, Verstappen on Bottas, Verstappen on Perez, Verstappen on Ricciardo, Verstappen on anyone else...
Best Moment: Verstappen on Rosberg, honorable mention to the last laps after the last SC and Vettel crying after Verstappen passed him.
DRS + Tyres: no DRS, tyres lasted good, rain was just too much and which idiot at RedBull suggested intermediates? Check his bookie he has money on Rosberg I guess.
And the race in a sentence: a long wait for a exciting sprint

Can't rate the race, the way Race Direction handled the weather situation was a joke as usual when it rains. The drivers saved the day by working their usual magic.

Best Driver: Hamilton
Worst Driver: Grosjean
Best Team: Mercedes, honourable mention to Red Bull
Best Overtake: Max on Dan
Best Moment: Crowd giving Charlie the thumbs down. And later cheering Massa up after he binned it
DRS + Tyres: Pirelli wet tyres are just too bad.
And the race in a sentence: Only Charlie can't handle rain - drivers can.

Best Driver: Verstappen. Anyone who thinks otherwise, sorry...
Worst Driver: Button. Sorry dude. I like you but you should have stopped three races ago. Your mind is not in it anymore.
Best Team: Mercedes
Best Overtake: any overtake by Verstappen.
Worst Moment: Massa's farewell.

Best moment: Vettel complaint about yet another psych-job by Verstappen.

Best Driver: Hamilton. Perfect when it mattered and strong pace. He could have lost the WDC today but didn't - and he might still win it yet.
Worst Driver: Difficult to say.
Best Team: Mercedes.
Best Overtake: There were multiple nice moves, but I don't think any one stands out.
Best Moment: None in particular, some of the shots of the cars ploughing through the water were stunning though.
DRS + Tyres: No DRS was nice. Tyres were important but the frequent resets made the strategies a bit chaotic.
And the race in a sentence: A typical modern wet race with all the highs and lows that come with that.

Solid 6/10.

Worst Driver: Button, Grosjean
Best Team: Mercedes
Best Overtake: Verstappen x 10
Best moment: Helmut Marko's face after the podium interview

Best Overtake: Max on Checo
Best Moment: Emotional Massa farewell  :(
DRS + Tyres: Wet tyres were quite bad
And the race in a sentence: Max Verstappen, is your 2017 F1 World Champion

If we go far green flag racing and discount race control then 9/10!

I can't believe people have actually given this flaming bag of dogcrap of a race full marks.

Best Driver: Hamilton, closely followed by Verstappen
Best Team: Mercedes.
Best Overtake: ?? I can't think of any. Even that really good Verstappen one was ruined by Horner's awful 'go on boy' type urgings on the commentary. Ew!
Best Moment: It eventually ended?
DRS + Tyres: Absolute scandal
And the race in a sentence: sport should hang itself in shame and apologies to the people of Brazil for giving them this crapfest of a race.

Best Driver: Hamilton without question. He has no equal right now.

Best Team: Mercedes

Best Overtake: Max on Rosberg

Best Moment: the immediacy of Raikkonen's crash

The race in a sentence: The eventual race will hide the faultlines but let's not forget the first hours.

Best Driver: I think all the drivers in the top 10 and Ocon did a great job today, maybe Ricciardo and Rosberg were lacklustre a little compared to their team-mates, but Robserg did well to save the spin.

Verstappen, Vettel, Hulkenberg and Alonso did well to recover back and finish were they did. Sainz and Nasr keeping it on the road with no mistakes with some good point scoring finishes
Worst Driver: Grosjean
Best Team: Force India - taken Williams out of contention for 4th place by the looks of it
Best Overtake: Verstappen on Ricciardo, if he didn't pass him as quickly as he did then he would have struggled to make the top 4
Best Moment: Massa's moment, been a fan of the dude since the Sauber days, although that moment reminded me of the end of Brazil 2008 :/
DRS + Tyres: Pirelli wet tyres are and always have been pretty grabage
And the race in a sentence: It was alright, not as good as it's been hyped

Maybe you should ask yourself why the spectators were so enthused after the race. I think you could learn a thing or two from them instead of pitying them! Millions of people around the earth were annoyed to death by the red flag farce like you but still enjoyed Max's overtakes - and perhaps even more because of the misery we had to endure.

And an advice: watch the race, let it just come to you. It's more important than some comment from the pitlane. Never expect anything, just wait what happens and keep an open eye. Races like this one or Canada 2011 should be experienced like a Zen exercise.

I for one enjoyed it big time too. It had some bad moments like the long SC periods (I thought the first red flag was justified) but there was plenty of good stuff in the racing laps we got. It paid off hanging on, and I would say those with a short attention span missed out on loads of fun!

Best Driver: Hamilton, Verstappen
Worst Driver: Grosjean
Best Team: Merc
Best Overtake: Max on Rosberg
Best Moment: The racing actually starting
DRS + Tyres: n/a
And the race in a sentence: I'm a bit surprised about the high ratings. The few laps of actions don't make up for the hours of ridiculousness at the start of the race. The conditions the race was ultimately run under weren't in any way an improvement on the conditions they kept red flagging it under.

Best Team: Mercedes
Best Overtake: Max on Rosberg
Best Moment: Max attack / Massa walking down the pitlane
DRS + Tyres: When will the extremes be usefull?

People are getting so blinded by those last laps with fresher tires and somehow forget that at some point in the race Max was behind Lewis and was losing time. In fact he almost bined it trying to stay in touch with Lewis. He was definitely entertaining today and had an awesome race, but Lewis was a level above everyone today.

Supposing you are consistent in the way you analyse the races, Ricciardo also had the same car, new tyres with only 1 or 2 laps more of degradation and he was 2 positions ahead of Max at the start of the last stint, but Ricciardo didn't finished even close to the podium with such a tyre advantage you believe he had (in the wet there is very little degradation provided there is not a dry zone on track, that never was). And if what Verstappen did was all because the material, then what Hamilton have done is just average performance. Because it is way easier to not make mistakes when you lead a race running in clean air whithout a shower of dirt and fog from the cars ahead, a clean visor, nobody to overtake ahead, and no pressure at all from anybody, because your team mate does not even want to fight for the race to avoid risks because he don't need to, and a car a full second faster than everybody else in the grid making possible to reduce the pace enought to be comfortable and still being faster than the rest of the grid, and if somebody closes on you slightly, you simply release one or two sandbags pick up the pace half a second per lap or a full second to control the race as we have seen the last 3 years.

I'm ok with them winning all, and with that team having the greatest domination the sport has ever seen, to drive for this kind of teams you have to be a really good driver, and to make such a dominant car it takes a very fine engineering job, kudos to them. But I feel insulted when some people try to make me believe every weekend that all this domination for a reason or another always seem to have been because a masterpiece of driving, specially when in order to win the championship this 2 drivers only have to fight between them, we all aknowledge that they are two of the best drivers of the grid, but they are a lot more human than this car make it seem every session of every weekend, Vettel also seemed from another planet, until there was not more monorail car anymore, now he seems more human than he ever liked to. Today after such a masterpice of racecraft to have to see people trying to undermine it with nonsense arguments is very insulting as a race fan.

On reflection the race did have a very important moment,

Hamilton 52nd win

This puts him second, ahead of Prost with only Schumacher in front.

9/10 for me.

Best Driver: Max. But let's not overlook Lewis, who looked untouchable, Nasr and poor Ocon who showed why he deserves that FI seat.
Worst Driver: On a day when they all put their balls on the line, no one deserves this tag. Respect to all of them.
Best Team: Sauber, who I truly hope did not kill off Manor today
Best Overtake: Max on Nasr
Best Moment: Max's final stint
DRS + Tyres: N/A
And the race in a sentence: F1 at its best. Those guys earned their money today.

Best Driver: Lewis ... Max was exciting, but Hamilton drove a perfect race.
Worst Driver: None ... although I really disliked Max' dancing about under SC.
Best Team: Mercedes
Best Overtake: Max on Rosberg I guess, although Rosberg was really just trying not to get run over.
Best Moment: Massa's walk down pit lane.
DRS + Tyres:
And the race in a sentence: Since I was visiting the kid at Uni and got to FF through much of the red flag nonsense, the exciting closing laps were the dominant feature.

You realize this 'dancing' under SC ensured he knew the wet lines which resulted in 13 overtakes in 14 laps?

Don't worry, they did.

Having seen the Channel 4 highlights programme, the frustration of lengthy race stoppages wasn't an issue for me; hence my 9/10 rating.  I must admit, the restart after the frst red flag seemed daft when conditions hadn't improved.

Best Driver:  I can't decide between Hamilton, who drove a Senna-esque race in the wet, and Verstappen, who had a Schuey-esque race in the same conditions.
Worst Driver:  I suppose it has to be Grosjean for droopping it on the way to the grid, though I can't really be harsh on him givgen the awful conditions.
Best Team:  Mercedes again.  they didn't indulge in speculative stops on a day which clearly wasn't suitable for them.
Best Overtake:  One of he many brilliant ones Verstappen produced.  I was particularly impressed with one one around the outside at turn 10, the right-handed hairpin on the infield, but I can't recall who he passed!
Best Moment:  Massa being applauded by the teams as he made his way doen the pitlane after crashing.  Real misty-eyed moment.
DRS + Tyres:  DRS n/a.  Tyres lousy in the wet but hardly Pirelli's fault.
And the race in a sentence:  Verstappen silences the critics; Hamilton continues his run of form; Rosberg continues to do all he needs to take the World Championship.

Best driver: Perez (Hamilton and Verstappen have dominant cars in the rain, Perez hasn't... he still almost got a podium), Sainz, Nasr as honorable mentions

Worst driver: Grosjean, Kimi and Palmer, all horribe wet weather drivers

Best moment: when the Red Bull messed up their tyre strategies, and for a time, it looked like a Perez/Sainz podium is possible

Worst moment: Hulkenberg's pitstop... he's a wet Interlagos specialist, should have been there too

Race in sentence: Charlie needs to retire, and Vettel was totally right in Mexico about him

As for Verstappen's drive, anybody noticed he had lot fresher tyres than the rest around him? It wasn't anything special really, not something like MS Spain 96 or Alonso Hungary 06. He made a mistake as well, and almost lost it to Rosberg who drove with throttle problems. Also, the Red Bull is equal to Mercedes in the rain.

Max dropped 10 places to fit those new tyres. If it was such an obvious advantage why didn't everyone else do it at that point in the race? He made those places back up with some of the best wet weather driving I've ever seen. Ricciardo is a great driver and was on the same tyres in the same car. Max made him, Rosberg and Vettel all look pedestrian. This performance was a big statement of intent from Max and it seems there are a few people unwilling to recognise it and give credit where it's due.

Edited: Thought he only dropped 10 places. He actually dropped 14 places to fit the new tyres for the last 17 laps. 16th to 3rd in 17 laps in the wet is a massive indicator. After the last race we heard comments about Toto calling Jos to give him a ticking off. I think Toto will be calling Jos to ask permission to sign him in place of Rosberg ASAP. http://www.autosport...g-physics-in-f1
