Aside from ththe over priced official app; what is everyone's favorite app for alerts, news, results etc? So far BBC sport seems to be the best one I've found for race practice results... thanks in advance

There is no other f1 app. The official one is worth just as much as current F1: zero.

As far as I'm aware it doesn't offer alerts - or at least i haven't got them switched on - but NewsNow set to the F1 page, is the best no question.

I don't have a mobile phone/smart phone so I have to say none.  But hearing from people who paid last year for the official F1 app, that's not a bad thing ;)

I've got one month free subscription after I bought the F1 race tickets in 2016.

The app (android version I've installed) itself is good -- fast response and very very informative. However paying around US$40 for one season would be still too much for me and I would not pay for it. Might consider it again if it drops the price to US$10-15 per season ...

I've had Freader1 for years. It's free, simple and has all the things you mentioned. Worth checking out IMO.

do you really need an ap? A quick browse through here and reddit gets you 99.999999% of what's out there in relatively condensed form. If you wanna get extra nerdy, go follow a twitter F1 list feed, I personally don't cause I think twitter is annoying , but hey you seem to enjoy getting "alerted" about everything.

Thanks for the responses; I like the notifications an app provides. Yes I can obviously get all the info from sites like this, but between the various times the races happen, my location (ny time zone), and travel schedule, I like receiving notifications on practice, qualifying times, race results, breaking news...instead of having to go to a browser and search (first world problems, lol)...just makes my life easier

This forum is ghastly on mobile devices.

A clean app delivering just new headlines it's much more user friendly.
