He's never 80!?? Many happy returns: a favourite of mine too, though sadly only saw him race in Group C.

Happy 80th birthday to a very eminent TNF member. Do I also espy another TNF member in Giraffe's photo, in the dark shirt, directly behind the airbox?

Fairly certain that's J.E., yes.
My he's changed... but less than I have!
Warmest wishes to Mr. Redman, I hope he's reading this and is reminded of the huge esteem in which he is held!

Wishing Mr Redman all the best for his 80th !

Happy Birthday to Mr Redman. Aside from his racing career, we owe him a debt of gratitude. It was Brian that prompted Jim Hall to restore all the remaining Chaparrals about 25 years ago, basically pointing out to Jim what those fantastic machines stored up at Rattlesnake Raceway were actually worth.

What an absolutely pleasant and delightful man, I've had the honor of seeing him at Goodwood a few times. Whenever someone approached him to say hello or to ask him to sign something, he always had a story to tell and whenever I saw him in a car he was grinning broadly, obviously enjoying every second of it. Superb gentleman and a thoroughly nice bloke. I didn't know how old he is and I'm quite surprised he is supposed to be 80, I would have thought he is a very fit 70 max. Happy birthday if you are reading this and looking forward to seeing you at Goodwood!

Just ordered a signed copy of his book... it has gotten very good reviews, though I'm sure parts of it will be hard to read (especially any parts about one of my all time favourites, Seppi Siffert)

Our esteemed Mr. Redman first survived the 917 era, then nearly 50 years of those moments befalling mere mortals every day. Awesome.
Happy Birthday to an authentic Hero!

An incredibly late belated birthday wish Mr Redman! (apologies, I lurk here every few months!)
In the early 70's John Bridges helped me get my apprenticeship at Chevron Cars (John lived just down the road near Preston) where I met Brian Redman. I'll never forget going testing in the evenings at Aintree, a trip to Mallory Park with BR and JB in John's BMW, and most of all, their genuine kindness and great humour, for which I'll always be thankful.
By the way, in the image above, 2nd from left is (was?) the race team manager, first name Paul - forgotten his surname but will never forget his nickname
Will visit here more often
John

Best regards to a true hero, a true racer, and possibly most important of all, a true gentleman, May he long continue to delight us.

Paul Owens? I do hope you can give us at least a hint as to the nickname, John. Looking forward to more good Chevron stories.
Yes! Paul Owens. Probably bad of me for the nickname and for all I know Paul could be here, so won't mention the nickname... not very flattering
Chevron. The happiest days of my life which I'd worked for from 16 yrs old, low wages and super long hours though met some amazing people, drivers, team managers etc. Will add things as memory allows
