PC-GAMER Interview Geoff Crammond!
PC-GAMER, the British PC Magazine have kept to their promises and interviewed Geoff Crammond, the legendary programmer of Grand Prix 3.
The interview has some interesting revelations and some new screenshots, from what I guess to be as Imola and Spa.
Unfortunately I cannot post the article or the screenshots to the site, as I would be infringing copyright laws, something I
don't wanna do!
Some things I found out though is that;
1. They started developing GP3 3 months after GP2
2. They will develop a 1999 season patch!
3. Different cars have different AI's
4. anybody with a 'reasonable PC' will be able to play it
5. It is on schedule for spring 2000!

They are not very well scanned, but if they are not 3D accelerated I can´t wait to see them when they are.

- Improved AI
- Realistic and exciting random conditions
- Virtual cockpit
- More detailed tracks
- More realistic crashes (rolling cars upside down is possible)
- Improved telemetry
- Improved menu system

Does 4-16 player network play mean only through a LAN network or does it mean internet play? Because without internet play of 20 drivers or so the game won't survive long.

Looking at the screen shots the field of view from the cockpit view seems to be very narrow. You can't even see the outside of the front wheels. I hoep this is fixed before the game is released, or at least there should be a look left and right function. This would be a major flaw IMO. GPL is tough to know where everyone is alll the time and it at least shhows all of the front wheels.

Russ,
GP2 didn´t allow Internet playing and is still alive and kicking.

GP2 is still alive and kicking for one very good reason and his name is Paul Hoad...

Russ, the Driver cannot look left or right anymore in an F1 car (high cockpit sides) and relies entirely on his mirrors, I suppose as GP3 is a sim not a game it will reflect this!
