Didn't the E Kanoo Supra run in the 5's quite a while ago?

Was that a full 1/4 mile run or an 1/8th mile?  Pretty impressive for a straight six.

Go Turbos!

That's not a five-second run.  That's a six-second run.

Hence Roger Bannister's 4 minute mile was 3m 59.4.  Not nearly five minutes.

It is a 5 sec run,,, 5.94 sec!

BUT the time was not a race where reaction time etc is part of the deal.

A time trial at an impresive pace, now do it in a race.

Anything from 5.000 to 5.999 is considered a 5 second run in drag racing just like any thing from 1:21.000 to 1:21.999 is considered to be a 1:21 in circuit racing.
