So over the course of the last month, I've been going through a bit of a TV reshuffle and have been trying out various ways to follow my favorite forms of racing. As it turns out, satellite TV including all of the necessary channels for following my favorite major forms of racing is quite expensive on a monthly basis. After looking around a while and trying a few things–including a no-doubt Nigerian-funded box to watch most of the first F1 weekend on Sky Sports–I've settled on what I feel is a pretty neat solution.

Right now, I'm using an Apple TV and its assorted apps in conjunction with a Playstation Vue subscription. I'm paying a third of what I was for satellite (which I've now dropped) and can follow every session of F1, Indycar and IMSA, WEC races, MotoGP races, F2 races, and WTCC races (the latter two being through the NBCSN app and the LiveStream app, respectively) on demand. I never really watched anything on the NBCSN app or others before because of the difficulty in getting the thing to play on a television–maybe I've been living under a rock for a few years, but having something that can access it hooked right into my TV is pretty neat, because now watching Indycar practice and F1's FP1/FP3 is loads easier.

I'm quite happy with the amount of racing I now have at my fingertips with a significant reduction in cost, so I'm curious–how are you folks in the US following racing and what series can you get? I'm sure there's probably a series or two I can catch that I'm missing, so I figured I'd ask here.

Are you able to record?

I currently have Google Fiber and watch on NBCSN (at least the sessions when I can't stream Sky).

PS Vue has a 'DVR' feature; you tag shows as favorites, and it 'records' each episode into an on-demand queue and stores it for 28 days. I'm quite happy with it so far, and I don't even have a PlayStation.

Verizon fios and the nbcsn app. Perfect combination, I can set the DVR to record every session from the Verizon app on my phone and watch any sessions live or on replay from the nbcsn app on my phone or iPad....
