Has anyone got entries, results etc for Knockagh hillclimb and any other speed or race events that year?

Or any suggestions as to the best online newspaper archive for there and then?

Very sparse info in the Irish Times. They reported on February 23rd that Antrim County Council had given permission for the March 26th road closure and for another on the same course for a bike event on an undefined date in April. This was, incidentally, the same council meeting which approved the use of Dundrod!

It's in their sporting diary for March 26th as a 'hill trial'. No report of the event. And nothing I can trace re a September one. Nor for the bike event.

Quite a few photographs on Google images for "1949 Knockagh Hill Climb"

Local newspapers that still exist, "Belfast Telegraph" and "(The) News Letter"

Thanks Bill. It's all a bit complicated and to do with the fate of the first production Cooper supposedly sold to Bill Lee in Northern Ireland.

The photosite you mention is not displaying full size photos of the September Knockagh properly, and no longer has photos of the March meeting which it once did;  just to prove that here is one of them which was labelled as Lee's car.

(wonderful that this is now so simple)

The Belfast Newsletter has reports of both meetings but naturally doesn't list all entrants.

I'm assuming the car in question would relate to Henly Hall racing car exhibition in January 1948?

Would this be the car that Billy Lee and brother John brought with them when they migrated to New Zealand in early 1950. I believe it is still mobile.
