I am a great admirer of team radio communications and sometimes you get classic quotes in the heat of the moment. For posterity, maybe we should keep some of these funny quotes. I laughed really hard during the Spanish grand prix when the engineer for Kevin magnnussen came on: These are the quotes from him (engineer) who sounds really panicky..... "we are reporting to the stewards, give us more details...give us more details Kevin!" Kevin replies veeery calmly.... "He just went onto the grass dry....He is CRAZY....he just went on the grass....he could have taken both out" Referring to Carlos Sainz challenging him on pit exit. Engineer replies.... "Yeah YEAH understood calm down!! Calm down!!!! Please calm down! We are reporting to the stewards...we saw everything ..it is pretty clear" I thought the engineer should take his dose of medicine...sounded very out of his depth! Vettel after Hamilton overtakes him.. "No chance...No chance...Like a train, Like a train" Alonso Bahrain After Carlos Sainz overtook him "How can he overtake me.....300 meters behind me at the beginning of the straight.....i never raced with less power..in my life..i hate this..**** this....he was 300 meters behind us on the straight......" His engineer comes on pretending not to have heard Alonso.. "Fernando we are considering plan B...how are the tires?" Alonso.. "Do whatever you want mate" I know not everything is broadcast but some of these are really funny. Talking of funny why was Lewis so breathless in Spain? Vettel sounded really calm, but Lewis was out of his breath. Difficult to explain.

Montoya was always good fun on the radio. The "oh dear" one was brilliant but who can forget Spa in 2002 when Kimi held him up at the old bus stop chicane on a hot lap. He never minced his words did Juan Pablo

Juan once said he hated talking to engineers on the radio in F1 because they were so devoid of any irony.

On the radio last year at the Indy 500, when his handling was obviously going severely south, he pleaded

"I don't want to be the first yellow".

His engineer came back with..."Oh Deer"

Most of Kimi's are brilliant. Not just the Abu-Dhabi ones as such, plenty others.

Vettel last year was a dream.

"Heres the message for Charlie **** off"

"Honestly what are we doing here? Racing or ping pong?"

I can't find a clip but there was a great one with Takuma Sato years ago - I think it was 2005 in the days of single lap qualifying. Sato was on his out lap in tricky conditions. We heard his engineer say 'be careful out their Taku, other drivers are struggling with conditions' before a mournful reply of 'it's too late...' and a shot of Taku beached in the gravel. He sounded so sad...

I love Seb on the radio, I find him genuinely hilarious. Was in him in Barcelona 'why is it always Massa?'

His rant after his lock up in Q3 was also gold.

I think of the drivers on the grid, handling Alonso as an engineer must be tough. You are not sure what will be thrown back at you....but I love it.
In 2017 Chinese race.....

Engineer: "And drink"..
Fernando Alonso..."I don’t need f@##ng drinks! There is just enough concentration to keep the car on the track, you know? Forget all the f@##ng drinks"..... classic.

There is a golden collection of angry drivers here. I really like the Alonso behind the wheel. No mask...no sugar coating

Vettel's live coverage of his first lap in Russia 2016 is rather amusing.

"Oooh I'm out! CRASH!" :stoned:

The very first one from the latest episode, from the Spanish GP, on the F1 website:

Alonso - "The engine feels good. We are slower than before. AMAZING!!"    :rotfl:

The way he delivers that line
