Does anyone have any programmes, entry lists motoring reports or magazine articles etc for any of the Aspen Street races 1951 through to at least 1955?

Do you mean Aspen, Colorado? Do you have any dates?

I suspect SCCA might give you some leads, and/or whomever is in charge of Woody Creek Raceway -- if it even still exists. We used to race karts there in the early '80s with folks like David Donner and Paul Dallenbach.

Edit: It does! This may be a good start for you, Terry:

Terry:

You need to contact Ron Shaw at rs0255@aol.com. He has compiled quite a lot of info on early Colorado sports-car racing, including Aspen, Georgetown Hillclimb, Lookout Mountain Hillclimb, and more. He's self-published small photo books (long captions) about these three events and is working on more. Aspen Historical Society also has several images of street races there. I have a few, used for the Colorado Grand route books. Will try to post them here, or you can email me directly at fdb912@gmail.com.

and last but not least, an early 1970s demo derby team, "sponsored" by the imaginary Aspen State Teacher's College:

All photos courtesy of Aspen Historic Society. Will try to do a better job of captioning when I have time, and when I can learn more about the arcane process for transferring photos from Smugmug to TNF.

And here's a view of the pits (which really were the pits) shot by me at a Porsche Club event there:

You might also contact William Taylor at Auto-Archives in Denver. He probably has no time to research it right now, but I'm on their board and may be able to help. What exactly are you looking for?

Yes, Woody Creek still exists. I first ran there in 1972 in my Porsche 912, instructed by E Prod racer Larry Myers, who showed me how to drive smoothly but quickly. Later drove it in a 911E and a 914/2. Many great memories there!

thanks to those who have added to this topic.

My main interest is of course the Jaguar XK120's that ran in the events.

I am also interested in all aspects of motoring racing and hillclimbs in Colorado where jaguars were involved at such places as Golden, Beaver point Pikes Peak etc
