Wow ... If I had a nickel for every time I've seen this little bit of original genius posted on this forum, I guess I'd have a whole lot of nickels.

I knew Fernando would say this at some point, but really hoped he wouldn't.

"As a driver I can choose more or less where I want to go and what category I want to be in.

"McLaren is the team with the second best numbers in the history of this sport and they want to win again, and as a member of this team I want that as well," he added.

 

I  think he is just saying that though he has other opportunities, he prefers to stay with McLaren, if possible. It's not about bigging himself up... unless you want it to be.
