Transition from 8-pin rotors to 10-pin...

Does anyone recall when that transition took place ? 91? 92?

'Rotor' is the USpeak for brake disc isn't it?

I would imagine that "pin" relates to "pin drive" wheels.

When I first started asking questions at AP Racing about 20 years ago (with Hitco vs Carbon Industrie questions), they referred to these as 8-pin or 10-pin (referring to the number of bolts that affix the rotor (disc) to the hat), so it stuck, rightly or wrongly. (this question relates to F1 brakes).

 

I'd love to post a picture, but the site seems to be resisting my best attempts.
