I don't see any reason to buy this app, F1TV yes, this app no....

that sounds neat; pay to watch f1 and pay to watch f1, also. because if you can't just charge your customers once and get away with it, do it twice and... get away with it.

Two major complaints so far, ignoring the UI design: no info on speed trap at all. In the circuit map, no idea which blob is which driver - add labels dammit!

I'm so confused as to where to get live timing. So there is a seperate app? And it sucks anyway?
I'm not interested in f1tv just timing. Bit of a shitshow hey.

Ohh man''  not again.

Have just activated my subscription and saw they again went back to the 2018's massive app-fail that become the laughing stock of what not to do' and I reckon alright but I still have the old app on another tablet..but they have disabled any sense of the previous app.

Yeah it’s still absolutely dreadful.

More than anything is the speed of the thing - laggy as hell.

I’ve moaned so much about it, I can’t be bothered anymore.

why would anyone want to know "speed", in all three sectors, every lap?

I've got a feeling they aren't going to change it back. They genuinely think this is an improvement.

You need an F1 TV Access subscription to access the desktop timing on F1.com and the Timing portal through the Official F1 app.

If you are able to get an F1 TV Pro subscription, you will have access to the "Data Tracker", which looks really good.

Heh, so I downloaded the reply. Took a while to figure out how to set the playback time (it's the clock on the bottom right). Quite often on the circuit window the cars just all fall off the track and meander into the center of the screen :stoned:

Jesus. This is all so incredibly dissapounting. I've paid for timing for years. To be honest it should be free anyway. Bloody crazy.

Dam, why do did I pay for this, it's still really bad and clunky, how can they get it so wrong, especially when they have a perfectly good and fast app just sitting there.

Please F1 reactivate the old app, your new one is still not up to its standard.

edit: I just don't get it, I have a iphoneX, so not a bad phone and this app can't even scroll smoothly, everything has a delay on it.

Is it just me?

I think it’s called Driver Tracker? Only options I have are Live, Pit Lane, Driver Tracker and Data Channel. And all the onboards.

I'm not really enjoying the new live timing functions.

I find specially annoying you just can only see the best lap, u can't just see the last lap, if a certain driver is on a long stint there is no way to know his true pace.

Tracker is not very useful either, it is now located on another window, apart from the proper live timing, can't see driver names, and you can only see certain information on the driver you select, if you don't select any driver...well,it does nothing.

I really miss the old app, that was proper live timing, i could find everything i need, new one is not near as good as the old one.

I will share my opinion and where they must improve on their Twitter feed.

If they don't improve the new app for next race, I'm afraid I will have to cancel my subscription.

You can click on the top of the lap column to change from fastest lap to actual laptime and vice versa.

The fact they've released basically the same app as last year, but with different scaling, shows that somebody at FOM thinks it's a well-designed app, and they are trying to force it through.

There is absolutely nothing of merit to it at all. The older version is superior in every way. Aesthetics, usability, smoothness...

It's almost like they've got a kid on work experience and they don't want to embarrass him. I am at a loss as to what they've been working in for a whole year!!

Again, I fear they aren't going to backtrack again, it would be too embarrassing. I suspect we will now hear lots about 'feedback' and 'updates', but the new app looks and feels inherently flawed.

It runs laggy on an iPad for goodness sake - I've never known a professional app for iOS to run so poorly, they've really outdone themselves for incompetence.

You can, just play a bit with it, also rotate your phone guys, the info (screens) changes.

For starters they have integrated the old concept quite well in the new design, always room for improvement though ...

The old version included current and fastest lap-times in different columns. This is just one of many nonsensical changes.

The old app didn't need updating, nada.

I would've been able to understand if the UI was tweaked to fall in line with other F1 TV products, but this design language of the new app is completely standalone and bears no relation to anything else in the graphics suite of F1 2019. It makes no sense at all.

The fonts are smaller, the sector colours are less distinctive. Some information is inside a bubble, some isn't. There is lag and jank for every touch interaction.

The "live progress" bar is a pathetic mess. You can no longer rewind or forward, you have to manually drag your finger along a timeline.

Oh I could go on for days.

And guess what? No more on demand live timing and "no spoiler" option (which is now somewhat moot, given the removal of the first feature).

FFS FOM, what on earth have you been doing for 6 months?

Is there no longer a live pause option?? If that's the case the app will be useless for me.
F1 is making a complete horlicks of ALL of their online/digital products.

Someone in charge needs sacked this seems 100% clear to me

There is.

You can pause-and-wait or manually scrub to a certain time.

You cannot (as you could before) tweak your app sync second-by-second using << and >>, because those buttons do not exist.

Some constructive, some more angry   Not expecting anything of it...

All i want is the timing feed they  all have on the pit wall. Close to that but with tire/age and a tracker in some corner.

....

This is the "Data Channel", exclusive to F1 TV Pro. It even includes the mini sectors.

ujfg5tfoq6m21.png

Compared to the regular Timing App, it's night and day. Obviously designed by different departments. I just cannot understand who the target audience of the regular Timing app is supposed to be. Children? Casual fans who enjoy pretty colours?

It is categorically wrong to create an application that is meant to provide analytic data, and then dress it up like a birthday cake!!!

Also, I've no idea why this wonderful-looking Data Channel is stuck behind the F1 TV Pro geoblock - there is no video feed included.

Yeah, well, the thing is just as the picture, it is behind on time so it is way out of synch with the broadcast on tv.... makes it kinda impossible to follow stints, sectors etc of mutiple drivers as I really like to dig in.

I used to use the f1feed.net website, which btw had AL the friggin info you needed on one screen, just running next to my TV. Now you would need like 3 tablets plus...

It just angers me. Remeber this was free a few years ago...
