Ray: are you copy/pasting text from a word processing program or another page? If so, the board's software may not - in fact probably will not - recognise any formatting in what you are pasting into the reply box. I think the only format which works faultlessly is Rich Text Format (.rtf), as used in Wordpad. But even if it does recognise it, it may not turn out the way it was in the original. If it's formatted as a table or similar - or even using tabs - it can be very difficult to sort out.

You always have the option of using the 'More Reply Options' and 'Preview Post' buttons to check how your post will look.

In the Editor Bar with the icons, you could choose under special BBCode the entry named 'Pre' (short for preserve)

Some      spacing      here
new lines

and

paragraphs

Edited:

Or just insert the BBCode tag - as it is called - directly. [pre] .... [/pre ]

Noticed for the purpose of defeating the BBCode markup here the closing tag has a space between pre and ], which must not be there when using it for your purposes.

Oh, and the reason the spacing disappears is not specific to this site, it's how the markup language used for the Web is supposed to work.

I am also using firefox on Win 10

When simply replying to a topic at the bottom of a thread the editor bar doesn't show up every time for me. So what I do is to hit the button next to the "Post Button". That button is named "More Reply Options".

There the editor bar always shows up on top of the message.

As to not having that issue before. Do you mean with the old forum, or is that just recently?
