Hi Russell,

No, my dad wasn't supporting anybody as early as 1963.

I am after some info on Pip Harris and what happened to him at this meeting.

There is no indication in my programme of whether he raced or not. Doesn't appear on a nicely completed lap chart from lap 2 onwards or in the results.

Trying to establish if he was a non starter or retired after 1 lap.

According to the program I purchased (and has Paddy Drivers' autograph on the front) Pip Harris riding no 9 did not feature in the first 10 in race 4 or the first 12 in race 8.

Still a bit of a mystery. 

 

Eric Bliss has a telegram from Pip asking if he is available to ride at this meeting.

 

I am trying to establish what happened. Did they have a problem in practice and non-started or did they start and retire after 1 lap.
