Incredible.  The YouTube link is heart warming and he is still going strong.

I can remember thinking he was "getting on a bit" when he raced in SuperVee, although it didn't show on the circuit and then he went Formula Three!

Marvellous story.

That is absolutely wonderful.

Thanks for posting that, I really needed it right now.

I liked the fact that Ronnie Grant's F3 racing number was his age, 62 and then 63. While he was by no means a front runner, he belonged in the field and definitely wasn't disgraced.

I can remember him with his F3 Class B motor painted black with a gold TAXI logo.  :D   At least that time he had an excuse for not picking you up...

I was surprised that he sometimes raced at Brands, "Sarf of the river..."

Because of his somewhat fearsome looks, I was, for a long time, reluctant to have contact with him.

When finally I started having the odd conversation with him, that changed, finding him self-depreciating and funny.

And here's a MotorSport interview from 1997, about how Ronnie got both Patrick Head and John Barnard to work on his car...

I met Ronnie at Zolder in 1982 when he was racing a FF2000 Delta which was transported on an old flatbed VW Transporter. We had a few chats that weekend which always ended with a laugh. Happy days :)
