The big fella whistled it round at 100.5 mph, who knows what it may have done if it was carbureting a bit better at the top end ? Some great sounds, and a massive effort.

Wonderful sounds, reminds me of the Stanley Schofield records I listened to as a little chap.

The race though was a masterclass display by Bruce Anstey, quite where he found 16 seconds from John McGuinness' existing record is beyond me. First 120mph lap by a 250 stroker.

Watched him at Signpost - he was really on it! Definitely out to bag the 120, with the race win a secondary matter I reckon.

127 on a 500 is literally awesome.  Incredible from Bruce

Pound for pound the two strokes still have it.

Jorge Lorenzos' 2006 world championship Aprilia up for Auction at Bonhams next month at Stafford.

110bhp 250.

I wonder what Anstey could get that round at?

I spoke to Bruce before he went home and he said the bike was a fraction over-geared and over-jetted for the conditions on the day, and that he wasnt quite able to pull top gear in a couple of places.

I suggested he could possibly do 122mph if everything was perfect, and if he was riding a 250 regularly again, and he didnt dismiss the idea.

That Aprilia would not get round the lap before falling to bits I expect! lol

But would be great to see

IOM Classic TT parade lap. At least the new Aprilia owner would have someone to talk to.
