I noticed a piece on this in the new MotorSport magazine and wondered why it hasn't been discussed here?

The proposal is to build the centre at the top of Rest and Be Thankful in Argyll.

  • The design is by someone called Twaddle which is why it is a steel and glass monstrosity instead of something elegant and heritage-influenced.
  • It is in the middle of nowhere - those who know the area will surely agree with this - and many, many miles from any major centre of population, with no public transport.
  • It is in a beautiful natural setting which ought to be preserved and not despoiled by Twaddle.

Apart from all that, it is a good idea.  Why don't they build it at Ingliston, or Knockhil?  The first was a race track and is now a show ground and exhibition centre, next to Edinburgh AIrport and connected to the city by tram.  The second is Scotland's current race track and only 30 mins from Edinburgh.  Or put it in the Glasgow Clyde side redevelopment area where there are already some museums and so on.

So you don't think there is any connection between the so-called name of the designer, and the whole impression we get of the content ?
