I need to ask this question really.

I saw a giant shadow of a bird during the race in one of helishots but still haven't found a picture to share yet. Did you see it as well?

Here is the footage: https://streamable.com/7abfz

Yup ; it didn't move naturally so we actually wondered if it was something mounted on the sky cam at T1. . .

It's actually the new steward that they brought in for today's race, the dragon that we all thought was dead from LOTR. He flew in because he knew that Max would pass Kimi but he would sort things out in the stewards office and indeed, Max shall not pass (technically he did but you know what I mean).

I saw that! Was convinced it was a bird but missus claimed it was a plane. At the end we both agreed it was superman.

During practice there was a shot of a large bird as well, which was identified (by a bird lover who was tweeting German Sky) as a turkey vulture. Maybe same bird,

It is a desert eagle. It lives in southern parts of North America. Its nutrition consist of snakes, wild horses and camels. It was a real nuicanse during the conquer of the west, when they attacked caravans and robbed them horses, leaving carries behind. Its population started to decline when a light anti-tank weapon M72 was introduced and kingsize beds and drag artist shows became more popular in Vegas. An estimated wingspan is approximately 12 metres in european units. A desert eagle is the third largest bird in America.

When I went to the Pepsi 400, on Independence Day, the authorities released a captive bald eagle before the start of the race, and it flew around a bit for the rubes to gawp at.  I wondered if they'd done the same thing at Texas and it had gone for a quick soar.

Interesting though that it did not get punished for going outside the track limits.  I thought that was ill eagle.

I doubt anyone does. But the question remains... what the hell created a massive bird shadow on the track in a live F1 feed?

Well, maybe the big bird thought the cars were snacks and tried to catch one.

That is surely more mounting evidence of the infamous cryptid:

Yeah I saw it too. Trick of the light to make shadow look huge. Pretty cool though. I thought it was a setup initially but don't think it was.

I think a shadow of an actual eagle would be smaller? this somehow does look unnatural. Maybe they had an eagle-shaped blip drone flying over the circuit?

I suppose you guys think the cameras missed the bit where Bernie used to run on track and quickly Graffiti his latest "Bernie Says" message on the middle of the track?

Perhaps we could train the giant bird to enforce track limits... gain an advantage with the run-offs and your car gets picked up and dropped outside the circuit ;)

It is obvious that the bird knows how to drive on the track. Look how precise the bird clipped the first apex but because of terrible front-end and lots of understeer, couldn't turn and goes straight out of the track.

Next time you are outside in direct sunlight get a ruler and prove yourself wrong. Sunlight shadows can get longer in one axis, but not bigger in the way this fake bird shadow was multiple times bigger in both axes than a real bird.

Still can't believe no one has a semi plausible explanation for this.

Must be a Liberty in joke or tribute to a family member.

Need an onboard from the Haas coming down the straight to perhaps see what was up there.
