I stumbled across this on YouTube and, for those who haven't seen it and might be interested, it's a very good look back at last year's season from the perspective of the only two guys who had a chance  :) (even if it's painful to watch as a Hamilton fan!)

Last year was the dullest battle they had as teammates so I'm quite amazed they managed 115 minutes of content.

2015 would get my vote for dullest tbh.

Last year had the whole Spain thing,Quit thing,Austria thing,Mechanic thing,Unreliability thing,AD thing and a surprise retirement off the top of my head.

2015 had a gust of wind and a lot of moaning about dirty air and the nose change thing.

2014 had Spa thing,Double points thing and unreliability thing.

Unless I've got some mixed up in which case ignore me.

2014 had Bahrain.

Most of the races last year was one Merc driver out in front with the other stuck hopeless in traffic. Maybe there were more controversial moments but in terms of racing it was as bad as it has been.

I did forget about Bahrain yeah and maybe in terms of racing it was dull but tbh outside Bahrain and Spain(Forgot that one too) in 2014 none of the racing was great as T1 decided most things because they weren't allowed different strategies.

Not that I'm going to watch the thing, no offence to whoever made it.

In 2014 T1 didn't decide most things, Lewis won lots of races from hunting down Nico from P2 and beyond.

It's remarkably slick for an anonymous YouTube user. Rosberg is a solid contender for best single-time champion in the sport's history for me. Few can say they beat a multiple-time championship winner and pole record holder in the same car. Nice to watch it without the unbearable tension of the live event.

The 2014 was just about Bah+Spn. Should've put a comma.

Your memories better than mine as I can't remember many memorable races outside those two from that year.(That was down to them fighting I should say, Hungary was great for other reasons)

I think give it 10 years and they'll end up as friends again and giving joint interview features for pre-shows for the next few decades onwards about their time on the track. Prost and Senna were heading that way, with Lewis and Nico there is a lot more that will bring them together again. Rivalries pass. They'll look back with fondness about two friends living their dream together, and regrets for some of their actions that salted it.

  Those post race interviews were quite something. Few can argue that sport is supposed to be about pushing your limits and it really showed that Rosberg clearly gave absolutely everything in the end.

Its a very well done video. Yes its very long but its worth watching, really good Mercedes 2016 battle highlights (long highlights because it covers every race)

This is how documentaries should be. No background music to artificially spice up the screening, no presenter facing it and being partly the star of the show, just raw insight into how things happened and the subjects involved. Pay attention TV companies.

Im too much of an LH fan to actually bear to watch much of the Siver War ... in fact Ive blanked most of 2016 out my F1 memory ... but I recognise the quality of the work that the editor/producer did.

And now he's done one that I can actually enjoy ... and I have to say .... this is excellent work... possibly the best F1 documentary ive seen - right up there with "Senna".

Never quite understood how anyone can be so blinkered as to only follow certain drivers to be honest.#~But I guess with f1 in the state it is right now if you are a loved Hammy fan, fil your boots.

What I said was tongue in cheek and was not meant to be taken 100% seriously ... pretty much most of the stuff I say here is.

Been following F1 since about '86 BTW .... My first "blinkered" support was for Piquet.

Some nice mind games Nico and Lewis played in 2016 but I think Lewis was better in those. It is obvious Nico did not feel very comfortable during those situations

Good one as well.

Interesting how the last four races were an even fight as well. Vettel with his chop at Singapore and Ferrari with their spark plugs in Malaysia and Japan threw away the title fight.

I quite enjoyed it. It was very well put together, and could stand alone as a mainstream tv documentary.

The only thing that let it down was the lack of protractor angle overlays at the Austrian Grandprix. That aside, I couldn't really fault it.

It was nice, actually. I still think Ham-Ros will end up as one of the nicest rivalaries in F1 down the line. It was so intense, their on track battles and interviews..
It also reminds me of how close that championship really was, Nico had some bad luck as did Lewis. Then Spain, Austria, Montreal (the latter I think Lewis went too far, equals Austria for me). And the amount of mistakes Lewis made(qualy/starts), as did Nico(racing).
Rosberg was not the best, but his qualifyings against Lewis were remarkable. Great driver.
Yeah... I like Bottas, but he's just not up their I'm afraid.
Great video, great season, way better than 2017. That said I'm more of a Kimi /Vettel /Alonso fan

Early contender for pointless post of the year.

I enjoyed the Silver War, it was a tough watch as a fan of Hamilton but there was no doubting the quality of the work that went into into - better than most season reviews, though obviously it does omit everything else that happened further down the grid in order to focus on the title battle. Looking forward to watching this season's version though - should be a bit more enjoyable!
