Heard somewhere final name will be "ZZR Mount Alpha-X". But don't tell anybody, it's confidential.

Begs the question: What is in it for the rest of this consortium and who are they?!?. For Stroll it's obvious....I for one foreseeing some interesting shite ahead lol!
Sorry have not been back to this thread for a while.
I know also too little to say the least, from WIKI:
---
The team was formed in August 2018 when a consortium of investors which included André Desmarais, Jonathan Dudman, John D. Idol, John McCaw Jr., Michael de Picciotto and Silas Chou named Racing Point UK Ltd.[4] and led by Lawrence Stroll, the father of former Williams driver Lance Stroll, purchased the assets of the then-existing Sahara Force India F1 team.[5] The team made its competitive debut at the 2018 Belgian Grand Prix. Stroll is set to move to the team for 2019, having completed the Pirelli Tyre Test with the team at Abu Dhabi.
----
BTW, did you recognized that the WIKI says Racing Point bought 'purchased the assets of the then-existing Sahara Force India F1 team.[5]'
This contradicts with the statement released by FIA that Force India was defunct two days before the Racing point purchased the Force India....

Any name would do as long as the team does good. Having a great name to circle around at the back won't help anybody.
I thought Force India was a terrible name at the time but I kind of like it now. The pink color used recently looked pretty bad too. The team punched above its weight at times and for that I started liking it.
They can call it Whatever Racing. As long as they provide nice racing..
This isn't true as Stroll would know coming from a hugely successful career in retail. Can't beleive people thought Racing Point was the real name!
Branding is everything. They need to attract partners and fanbase alike. One of a Formula One teams most valuable assets is its brand.
I'm expecting a great team name/brand design/car design/sponsorship portfolio since Stroll and his concertina are more au fait with this kind of thing than just about everyone else on the grid.

Generic crap isn't the way to go, something unique is WAY better for marketing. Using one's name or something is fine, but Racing Point is the worst name of an F1 team ever. I wonder if they planned to use it but reacted to the negative response...
Force India was a bit stupid as a name, but at least it had some character, hence it worked anyway, especially after shocking everyone by not being sold/bankrupt after 30 minutes like Midland/Spyker, and then performing genuinely well.
