As Mercedes seems to have everything under control after qualification attention turns to the battle of the midfield, Williams have already placed themselves as a firm number five in the WCC, but Toro Rosso, Renault and Haas are only seperated by six points, and after quali Renault seems the most competitive team followed by Haas while Toro Rosso does not seem to be heading for points sunday.. whoat do you guys think? Who will grab no. 6 in the WCC?

The current standings 6-8 in the WCC:

6   Toro Rosso   53pts.

7   Renault         49pts.

8   Haas             47pts.

Everything is possible statistically, and there is a rather large sum of money to fight for when the prize money after the season is distributed, so at least for Toro Rosso and Haas who is probably on a lot tighter budget than Renault for 2018 development sundays race is extremely important..

Haas is well off points after qualifying, so they will have a tough time improving their position. It all depends whether Hulk's car holds together in the race and Sainz moves up in the race. Looking at Renault's reliability this year I wouldn't hold my breath though that they will really make it.

Renault's cars fail, Haas gets 2 points and Toro Rosso gets nothing but remains sixth in the standings.

I cannot see STR taking home any points tomorrow, if Renault can manage to keep both cars moving till the finish line they definetaly has a shot at overtaking in the WCC standings.

STR getting 0 points and both Renault cars turning DNF on account of reliability issues is very possible, but still Haas gaining 6pts. seems unlikely, however Renault is only two points ahead in P7 so if both Renaults fail Haas has a proper shot at improving the no. 8 position from their rookie season.

Renault won't want to be beaten my their jnr customer and should be able to get enough points but I voted for STR to hang on only because the Renault PU has been so fragile recently and neither scoring seems likely.

Haas will no doubt be able to reflect back on a season where they have met their targets but with Mclaren having Renault engines, Ferrari giving Sauber more of a hand (in terms of it's development drivers at least) next year, and Honda money at STR they'd better not rest on their laurels because next year is going to be very tough for them.

I'm cheering for Renault to snatch the place.

Torro Rosso have shot themselves in the foot really. They could've held on to Kvyat until the end of the season, he looked more likely than the 2 rookies to score points.

How very indicative of F1 this situation is: three "midfield" teams battling it out for money with scraps and duct-taped engines just to be able to get that all important money. And no racing fan giving a s**t...

I'd guess it will be Renault.

Once Hülkenberg maintained his place ahead of Pérez after the stops, it was a matter of reliability! Well done to Renault. Quite a solid improvement over last year, in terms of their finishing positions at least.

The result:

57 points for Renault

53 points for Toro Rosso

47 points for Haas
