There was no failure of the car in Alonso's accident, confirms McLaren. Damage to the front wing, but nothing important.

Additional aero bits on the halo? I hope they haven't left a loophole there...

After we ban the T-Wing we'll just introduce the U-Wing.

Brilliant! Let's add more loose bits (as close to the driver we can get them) which can end up in a driver's face or body in case of an accident....
I'm amazed once again by the incompetence of the FIA, in their decision making AND regulatory convolutions.

Nothing important? Maybe you should look at the right front tyre of your pic in post 2 and what that means for the suspension.

Yeah right front corner needs to be rebuilt.
Mclaren have confirmed Alonso will be back after lunch.

halo looks fugly, but i actually think it looks better with those aero bits on. maybe, just maybe they could make it look OK with mods in teh future.

That's an @F1 race distance-worth of laps already completed by @OliverTurvey. 55 laps in the bag and it's not even lunch yet @alo_oficial had an unscheduled visit to the tyre barrier earlier, so the team are making a few repairs to his car now.

Alonso crash today reminds when he crashes at the start of the partnership between Mclaren and Honda during wintertesting in Barcelona in 2015.

Was he electrocuted again?!

The halo is ridiculus enough on it's own, there was no need to add winglets on it!

Add an A-Wing and X-Wing and we have a Star Wars fighter wing.

where is that mythic Kubica pace dropping after 30 laps ? he did over 90 laps already and still doing massively consistent race stint

In the OP, but it's in Spanish.
Guy is a hero, always the only one to do that during these kind of tests lol.

It's almost impossible for those bits to become detached.
You'd need to have a fairly large object or even an entire car in the cockpit area before that becomes an issue, and that ...
Oh right.

What is with the McLaren drivers and turn 19
I didn't realise the teams only have the first hour to do their own thing, then they have to follow the Pirelli test programme.
