Have just read that F1 are thinking about doing away with them ,this new social order world we live in ????? is now take in away the glamor that the grid.Give...OMG what will they think of next.I personally think they should do it if they want to and get paid well ,not being exploited as they think is happening..

It's hard enough to watch these races today with removing a little glamor.

We are living in a world where the females [except the ones working] call all men sexist because they were told they look good!

The dumb thing is these 'maligned' women do it for at least a part of their living. Models and sometimes just young women with trim bods do the glamour work for an hourly rate. And so support themselves.

But the rich ones forget about basic work and the older ugly ones hate the young ones so it is called sexist!

I actually had a showdown with a woman recently re this. Close to my age and worked in Govt and had no real idea of how hard it is for young aspiring models and 'cute' young women studying or simply saving to earn a living. Better rates than waitressing, which is where some of them get asked to do this work. A young lady I know paid for her overseas travel on top of uni demands doing this work, or sales work, waitressing at the Casino. Not just motorsport ofcourse, all sorts of events, social and sporting. Her parents paid uni fees but the rest she had to earn

While most are too much makeup [as demanded] they still have the glamor to dress up a grid. And who will do it otherwise?  Or do the cars simply drive up to the grid and race off?  Like most of us racers have done at local meets.  The grids will lack quite  lot.

Sorry guys but  they are ludicrous anachronisms which have looked embarrassing and crass for years . I don't actually think it's 'sick' to stop paying girls to get trussed up like turkeys so middle aged men can perv over them. It is demeaning for all concerned .  I loved the racing in 1975  but I really don't need this type of reminder of that sexist era thanks .

How many of these 'expoited' girls actually had their arms pushed up their backs to become grid girls?
Come on John, lighten up and enjoy all aspects of life and not just the boring PC society of today!
Rob
Question... do you look away when the grid girls arrived this year?

If I decide to watch, which is not every race, I switch the TV on at 12.59pm. I will not miss something I've rarely seen.
