Lads, this morning I uploaded a short clip from my collection of Formula 2 at Crystal Palace back in 1971. It features everyone you can think of (maybe apart from JYS); Jo Siffert, Grahm Hill, Emerson & Wilson Fittipaldi, Reine Wisell, Ronnie Peterson, Gerry Birrell plus a few more. Here's the link

Over the last few weeks I have also uploaded more clips from my archive, feel free to take a look at those, too.

Thank You, Gary, what a lovely clip!

Not to derail at all, but in watching that I couldn't help but imagine what it must be like for any petrolhead like us to attend their first race after becoming deaf.

Great footage, nice to see Ronnie sideways for such a nice, long stretch. Would give anything to go back, but glad to recollect just the same. :-)

Looking forward to whatever you unearth, Thanks Again!

A few seconds of Silvio Moser lining up on the grid, mores the pity.

Unusual to see F2 filmed sadly  - particularly great in this era.

The burst water main incident comes to mind that Graham Hill never really recovered from. I spoke to Nigel Snowdon about this race and he said that Ronnie Peterson was his usual self because as soon as he spotted Nigel he would gesture to him to spoil a clean photo!!

Looks like some of it was from Practice as there's not much of a crowd in the background. It was heaving on race day!

Yes you're right Alan, most of the film is practice, only the very end of the reel is the race.

Thanks Gary. I don't think I've ever seen the Ford P69 in motion before; it didn't quite have the elegance of its predecessor, did it?

What is tragic is how much we have lost ; today a Grand Prix TV director will get terribly moist and excited  about a  Formula 1 car getting the teensiest bit out of shape . He'd slomo replay it again and again and yet here  is Bengt Ronnie holding it hugely sideways for an age. There's not actually a massive amount of reasons I'd revisit 1971 for non motor sport  reasons but I'd go back for this , and the Targa Florio a fortnight earlier ....

.......and to think, John, that I was one of the guys who used to do thoise replays......but hey, I got to travel around to all the races courtesy of Bernie TV so I'm not complaining. True though John, I think we'd all prefer  to see Ronnie doing his stuff like this rather than the eensy weesny bit of a car getting off line these days.
