I've always liked cars with Texaco/Havoline livery, and early 90s CART cars look awesome anyway.

Yaaaaasss, PaulB bringing that real Indy love to the forums.
My fav:
Michael Andretti's '98 Swift 009.c Newman-Haas Ford V8:

It does remind me quite a lot of the Andrea Moda S921, which I know is OT in this thread.

In no particular order:

Interscope Batmobile

Porsche 90P
Impossibly low and sleek enough to make a BT52 look blunt.

Great picture there Jones!
That 90P has a hell of a profile. The swoop of the front end (ahead of the cockpit to the nose) is pretty much perfect.

Obviously I'd choose this one.
Ditto.
May I add it looked even better in super speedway trim?

Most of the CART cars from the early to late 90's were great looking cars.

Andretti's Swift was great looking.
Won debut too.
Had high hopes Mikey would win a title.
Hopes quickly dashed.

Yup, that is one of my favorites too.
Also the Al Unser Longhorn of 1982 and Michael Chandler's 1983 Rattlesnake were great looking fullbodied cars.
Other favorites I have and of which pictures appear already
1990 March-Porsche 90P (Jones: thans for that picture of the car in the museum!!!!)
1968 Lotus 56
- The mid 20's 91CI Millers in both front and rear wheel drive versions.
- The 1994-1995 Reynards at Indy and the later ones in CART. I agree, CART in the 90s, eye candy on wheels, just about every single different car that was built was great.
- The stillborn Ferrari 637
Not pictured and I don't dare to put them up because of copyright infringments
- the 1963 Hotel Tropicana Specials of Jim Hurtubise and Bobby Unser. Never before or after had there been such agressive mean looking beasts at wheels at Indy. And being Novis, they were beasts no matter what or how they looked anyway!!!!
(Of course I have to list my favorite Novi!!!!!)
- The 1976 Wildcats.

You could have really stirred it up with a "Most Beautiful Grid Girls" thread.

Change 'Joe' for 'Herb' (Porter) and you've essentially got that car's story...
Last 'true' roadster to make the field. Next to last front-engined car. First turbocharged Offy. Out of the 500 at the start in 1966 (Bobby Grim).

Unlike many people I never really thought the Watson roadsters were all that attractive, especially after they started sprouting air scoops. But of all the glorious Indygasm display at Goodwood in 2011, I took more pics of this car than any other. It looks fabulous today. It's the same car JR drove in 1964, when it had that last gasp hideous yellow Bardahl paint job.Change 'Joe' for 'Herb' (Porter) and you've essentially got that car's story...

Yes, that Porsche sounded unlike anything else that year.
BTW,that other March of 1990, the Alfa powered one was also making a unique sound.
But unlike the 90P, the 90CA was ugly....

Also, take note of where the turbocharger is located on the Porsche.

I'd love to hear Donald Davidson's opinion. !!!
I'd imagine it would be pretty similar to Enzo Anselmo Ferrari's. i.e. that the prettiest race cars are the ones that WIN...

Can confirm, was at that race... love that era of CART.
I was partial to the Eagles back in that era, although I know they weren't the most shapely of the breed.

Christ. What engine is in that thing? Judd V8? 10/10 would listen to that over and over. Also further confirmation that Bozzy is the best thing to ever happen to youtube.

Yeah. I can also spot Henzler, Long & Pilet in that picture. So it must have been a Porsche jolly to IMS.

late 90's CART Reynards' were simply the best. Especially in the superspeedway kit and Players livery. *dribbles*
I think often about the 98 Penske:
Disaster of a car, but I loved what it stood for. The last independent constructor in Indycar.

Didn't see enough of them on TV given how slow they were. A shame - as they were a good looking thing
