Is the photo RS17 plus the pipe?

Still I read 18 on its nose tho... not much changed looking from this view?

Beside that I expect it to be competative, I really hope they make it yellow again like the RS16

RS18 will be completely new car and new design unless they lied. I expect it to feature blue livery, but on what extent I dont know. Those were all rumours and hints from top of Renault branch going back to late June 2017.

I really hope the blue livery rumours turn out to be false. Just stick with yellow and black please (adding some white would be nice though).

I would love to see a yellow and blue Renault myself, but haven't seen any blue rumours. Does anyone have any sources?

First I've heard of the blue. Hopefully more like the 2007 test livery.

Best source I could find: https://www.gpupdate...2017-18-livery/

"These synergies are also reflected in the image: the new Renault e.dams livery foreshadows the evolution of our identity in Formula 1 for the 2018 season."

It's all mostly surrounding the connection between their F1 and FE teams. But in different versions the rumours about blue livery go all the way back to 2016 (potential new sponsors etc).

It's NOT the RS.17. That airbox is completely new and is more FI-esque regarding its thickness and shape. The sidepods look different too (I know, different view angles). And the mirrors are thin.
https://www.thisisf1...h-in-Photos.jpg
https://cdn-3.motors...india-vjm10.jpg
It's not foolish to belive that this is the 2018 car (as a render) because
-it's not an older Renault car
-it features some interesting changes compared to its predecessors, like the 'airbox'
-the 3d renders Enstone shows or teases are very often quite accurate and representative of the actual car
-Renault has nothing to lose (/no secret/no advatage) by showing a teaser like this.

The more I think about it, the more I think Renault are more of a long term threat to Merc than are Ferrari.

Maybe, but they've got a long way to go still.

I'd love to see them catching up a bit this year, and I think expectations are quite a bit higher now. Anything less than top 5 would be a failure, and they'll also be compared quite heavily to McLaren - being too far behind McLaren wouldn't reflect well on them, even if they're still catching up on infrastructure, number of staff etc, compared to the sorry state Enstone was when the team was purchased.

It won't be easy but ultimately 2017 showed a lot of promise. Even if they lost massive amount of points with poor reliability, certain British driver, and other minor issues, their first car built under Renault was already 4th fastest on the grid for most of the season. I'm not expecting them to catch up to the top three just like that - those were too far ahead - but they should be able to put up a good fight for 4th in the WCC, 5th being an absolute plan minimum.

Renault have yellow and blue in Formula E as well.
And the Clio Williams was blue and gold 25 years ago.

Renaults colours have always been black, yellow and white.

The exception was in the mid 2000s. This was largely due to Renault maintaining Benetton’s former blue colour which arose due to Mild Seven sponsorship.

Their current colours are closer to their heritage and look much better IMO.

Renault have used blue and yellow for years. In the 90s their Laguna touring cars and Megane rally cars were blue and yellow and it had nothing to do with Mild Seven.

Renault has since then gone through some identity updates and yellow and black seem to be their current corporate colors. I really hope the car will be mainly yellow again, and not too much generic black like last year.

Renault should go back to good old French racing blue and really stand out on the grid amongst all the black and grey cars.

Renault have never really used it though. Blues have been in schemes but usually someone else's sponsorship, or pushing Alpine, or some other reason. The renault bit is the yellow, black and white for as long as Renault Sport have existed.

They already stand out with the yellow :)
They have a strong identity and are very recognizable now with the yellow.
Maybe they just should rework the ratio, put less black or change the distribution. I hope they keep the matte black... but matte + glossy black can be cool to :p

All three rally cars are Renaults.  You wouldn't say a Mini-Cooper wasn't a BMC car and the Gordini tag was just the same as the Cooper one.  As for the race cars, they were officially Renaults whoever built them.  Like the BMW car that won Le Mans, although it was actually built by Williams. The point was that there was plenty of blue around if you go back before Renault's Lr Mans and F1 adventures started.

Don't selectively quote me to make me look stupid. Rude bugger.

As I SAID.. Blues have been in schemes but usually someone else's sponsorship, or pushing Alpine, or some other reason.

Blue has never been a Renault colour per se. The blue is there for non-Renault reasons. For the current F1 team there are no non-Renault reasons.

What were the “non-Renault” reasons for the blue in the 90s Lagunas and Meganes I posted earlier?

Nice Blue, I personally find it nice for Renault car.

But Renault indeed raced Yellow, Black and White.

ThIs does not dictate that Renault must race with those old Livery, tho. Currently it manifest more white than Yellow.

White to pearl white car with big Yellow chunk plus black accent, that wil be true to current Renault corp image.

Still its formula one car should not necessarily be so boring....!

It cars are painted in sexy colors, that we cannot say it either red or orange...

ALL factory entered Renaults were blue for years.  Just because you were still in nappies ( as you apparently still are) at the time doesn't change the facts.

This is the 'Orange Tonic' color for the Megane R.S., one of the two colors it comes in, guess what the other color is..

Strong dark horse contender...

Would be good if they can be right up there with Force India, and perhaps McLaren? Preferably a bit closer to the top three than Force India was last year as well.

If we can get Hülkenberg, Pérez, Sainz, Ocon and Alonso and Vandoorne fighting for P6-P10 every race that'd be very good indeed.

Dark Blue = Rothmans = Williams F1 = your connection?  Consider when these cars came out, the winning Renault F1 cars were mostly a dark blue.

Complete fantasy. Your mistaking of Ligier, Michelin, Gitanes or Alpine for Renault and then being so colossally rude about it is inexcusable.
