According to press reports former german superbike ace Peter Rubatto died Tuesday, Feb, 20th, aged 62.

Rubatto took the first two titles of the then new German Superbike Championship in 1983 and 84 when it was still open to four cylinder bikes of 1000 cc capacity. Winning 11 races out of 12 in 1984 gained him the nickname Mr. Superbike.

I remember in my early IOM days Peter getting locked up for speeding at 140mph in the 30 limit going into Ramsey on open roads!
