Might as well limit the damage and get 2nd in qualifying and the race. Decrease the gap between Seb and Lewis.
Plenty of options for Ferrari if they qualify 2-3...for example when Ricciardo pits they can use the 'second' car to dramatically reduce the pace and form a lovely train....
We must thank Max for the strategic flexibility Ferrari will have tomorrow.

So we have Mad Max battling his way through the field from the back of the grid... Who wants to bet on a SC ruining our race again?

Why do you guys think that Ferrari did better in Monaco last season compared to this, is it because of the shorter wheelbase ?
Yes

P2 and P4 are a good result on this track.
Yea, it's ok. But P2 and P3 would have been nicer.

Absolutely. This was quite expected, honestly. The car handles completely differently and has lost pretty much ALL of the wily nimbleness it had last year.

This would've been perfect if Kimi was ahead of Lewis...

Well, at least we are in front of Hamilton... it was obvious we got the max out of the car.
Let's hope for a good race and hopefully in Canada we can again fight for the pole & win.

The result is very good with this year's car. We all knew RB will be on pole. Strategy must be spot on tomorrow and that makes me nervous.

Exactly. Kimi is sandwiched between 2 Mercs. I have a feeling they will find a way to finish in front of him. Overcut is the way to go.

Overcut will be impossible with hypersofts. They will be done

Still better than ultras which are worthless. As Lewis said it.

How long they last will definitely determine how things play out.
Hope Ferrari have some confidence in their data on that. I expect Ricciardo will be able to pull out a bit of a gap and I think Vettel will be able to pull out a bit of a gap on Lewis, letting Vettel kind of run his own race. I actually dont want Ferrari to get too cheeky and go aggressive on strategy for the win with some early undercut or anything. Could be risky, especially if we get a SC afterwards. Finishing ahead of Lewis in 2nd would be good enough at a track we knew we wouldn't be strongest at.
Wouldn't mind seeing them be a bit more aggressive with Kimi's strategy though, to try and get him ahead of Lewis if he can stick with him in the 1st stint(which I think he'll be able to).

I think an RB could overcut a Ferrari as it's more gentle on tyres, but not the other way round.
My biggest fear is the strategy team. I hope they won't be given the opportunity to screw up tomorrow.

This will be the first race, where RB can show their real race pace without excuses. So I guess Ric will be able to open quickly a gap, and since it looks RB has the best tire wear by far, I don't see how Ferrrai will have a chance tomorrow. Only some chaos will may help them - and of course a magic start.

Perhaps Ferrari use Kimi? If Ricciardo pits first and comes behind Kimi.

I only remember that in Baku, the others races they were stuck behind cars and weren't able to run their own speed. It will for sure be very interessting to see, how Ric will handle it from pole tomorrow. As I said, I expect an easy race for him, if nothing comes in his way (errors, SC and so on).

I doubt Kimi will be *that* far back to be able to use him like this. But for sure, Ferrari would do that if it's a possibility.
I have a feeling Ferrari wont have the luxury of holding out, though. Nobody is going to want to pit early. Ricciardo will stay out as long as it's viable to do so. More likely that Ferrari have to pit Vettel before that. And if Kimi is close behind Lewis, Ferrari may want to pit Kimi early to try and get him ahead of Lewis, or at least force Mercedes to protect Lewis by pitting him early, which leaves Vettel more comfortable.
But I dont know. This is all assuming they all come out of the first corner in the same order, which may not even be the case.
