Sad to report that Alan Stewart (1970's rider from Guisborough) passed away today.

His friend and sponsor Russell Armstrong announced it on Facebook. No further details.

R.I.P. Alan.

That's terrible news, a great rider and really nice guy, I met Alan a couple of times during my first season of racing and found him a really friendly chap and always happy to offer advice to us budding club riders.

Photobucket did that to all of us some time ago Greg, they are trying (unsuccessfully) to get people to sign up to a 'paid' account, but the puzzling thing is I saw your image initially, it was definitely here this morning!!

Maybe if you haven't used your photobucket account for a while it's only just updated and locked you out? I keep meaning to search for another free hosting site and move my albums over, there are other free options out there apparently.

Nice shot anyway, and I'm sure I recognised the guy in yellow and white on what looked like a Norton Metisse at the front of the shot, but couldn't put a name to him.

Was it Arthur Wiggins ? I'm also wanting a new hosting site, any recommendations anyone ? I haven't used it for a while but was bombarded with ads when I did making it difficult to use.

Struggling here after a dinner party with too much red on board, but this tragic news is ringing a bell. Alan was surely prominent at Croft as well as Oliver's Mount?  Well remember chatting to Mr Armstrong (Stockton on tees?) Good times RIP Alan

I've been using Postimage.it's free to use and user friendly.Quite basic though,I don't think there are any editing tools on there, but if you just need it for hosting it's ideal.

I don't recognise that name Greg, but the bike and colour scheme is familiar to me for some reason, I'll probably suddenly remember in a months time for no reason!!

Re Eric's idea for hosting, I'm going to try that one thanks

Yes looks like Alan Stewart there Greg, and a nice bit of video, I remember those Grant/Sheene battles around the Mount, and would have been somewhere in that sea of people that day.

I hope they get the current problems at the Mount sorted out, as there has been no racing this year.

Can't imagine ever getting crowds that size again, it's too expensive to get in and programme is usually a fiver.
