Love this place but I imagine many here haven't heard of it. It's here, just 20 minutes from home for me. It's a spectacular piece of road and I drive up or down it often.

A very friendly event with a most eclectic mix of cars. Highly recommended for anyone within striking distance of the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Tinker Special. Nissan power, VW front end. The nice fellow who drove it (and built it 30 years ago) wore a perpetual smile worthy of Daniel Ricciardo.

I have ran there 4 or 5 times. Great venue though a little dangerous. And the end that is flat out if you dare as it then runs onto a gravel road. Very steep in some places then levels out then goes up again. Quite fast as well, I was  over 100mph in two places.

Every year a car or two are killed, one was a [then] near brand new EVO, his girlfriends car as his was not ready  . Though noone has been injured apart from their pockets

Unfortunatly for me not scored as I would like, it is cumulative like a rally. Unsurprising as it is run by rally people.

They also run on Willunga Hill as well where I have ran once.

The  Datto ute is 3400=2litre turbo.

The Red Torana is the son of a bloke I have known since  my teens. And is a very quick  well driven car. I sold him those wheels :drunk:

The XY is a reformed Nissan owner, he used to run a Skyline and has seen the light. A classic rally car.

The Tinker special is part of the furniture, almost guaranteed the slowest car but he has more fun than many.

The other top SA venue is Mt Gambier, up out of the Valley lake to the lookout, again fast and a little dangerous as well. No open wheel cars allowed.
